Chapter 13
AYODEJI'S POV
I got to the hospital as I promise.
My sister, Temitope was already there.
“e kaaro, ma” I greeted my mum as I went to hug her but she stopped me and told me to greet her properly so I practically laid on the floor.
“Sister Temi, e kaaro” I greeted my sister too.
“Ayo, sorry for stressing you like this, I was just worried and I was panicking” Mum said.
“Ah, Mummy, don’t apologize. That’s what am here for. Sis, how far?”
“Ayo, how is school?”
“School is fine oh, how is work?”
“Work is stressful but we thank God”
“Mummy, how is he? What really happened?”
“He's still unconscious, the doctor said there was a compression on one of the bones in his leg. But thankfully, there will be no need to amputate his leg. He’ll be in a wheelchair for some weeks” Mum replied.
“Hey God, why did you let this happen?”
“Ayo, will you shut up! Do you know it could have been worse, the brakes were out of control so you should thank God Daddy is still alive instead of questioning him” Temi was yelling, the nurses were looking at us like they wanted to kick us out.
“Is okay before you remove my ears” I replied eyeing her.
“You people will not start this nonsense here” Mum said scolding us.
“What about the hospital bills?” I asked.
“Don’t worry about it. Thank God your father is stable now at least”
“Okay, I’ll just stay for some hours then go back, I really wasn’t needed”
“Ah, see this my son oh, you will not at least eat your mother’s food before you go?”
“I’ve missed my lectures for today, I don’t want to miss more lectures” I had sound like I enjoyed the lectures but the truth is I didn’t want to stay long with Mrs. goody two shoes, Temi. She could be so annoying sometimes. After staying for two more hours and Dad was still unconscious, I decided to go but Mum forced me to go home with her so she could cook something. She cooked Jollof rice and chicken which she forced me to eat more.
“Mummy, I’m going. Please greet Bamidele when you people go to visit him” it’s been ages since I saw my little brother. I hugged Mum tightly.
“God be with you, Ayo. Thank you for coming to check on me and your father”
“Ah ah, Ayo. Will you hug me?” Temi said opening her hands for a hug. I hugged her.
“Temi, you know I hate you right?”
“I love you too” she said laughing.
Mum made sure she packed up some of the cooked rice for me. She also packed up food stuff for me to cook while at school and some money. Temi sent some money into my account, it was definitely a great idea coming back home.My parents were also staying in Abuja so the journey was quick. I arrived at five o’clock in the evening. Although, they stayed in the same place as where I schooled, I wanted freedom and I’m grateful they understood that so they allowed me rent an apartment.
I reached apartment and found my door unlocked. I entered into the house and saw Chidera, Kunle and Frank inside with three girls each making out.“Are you guys serious? Get out all of you”
“Ah ah Ayo, even your guys?” Chidera asked me.
“All of you”
They left. My apartment looked like they threw a party in it.
“What…what is all this now? Which kind of people are these ones sef?” I was complaining as I cleaned up the place.
After cleaning, I showered and are the cooked rice my Mum gave me. I sat and thought of talking to someone.
“Hi, I need someone to talk to. I need you”
