Chapter 18 : Third time's the charm

Vegas was awake. Pete kneeled by his bed to talk. "Are you feeling better, Vegath?"

"Attempt number 2 : I got into the enemy's den to save you. Say, am I forgiven?"

"I was worried sick about you! Couldn't you stay safe?! Is that too much to ask??"

"Awww so you do care about me."

"I would be angry if you died before suffering until I was satisfied." 😑

"I'm sorry, Pete. You didn't deserve the pain I put you through. I'm glad everyone obeyed me & didn't hurt you though."

"That explains a lot. Why did you start all this, Vegath?"

"Dad started the war. I only came to rescue you."

"Look where that got you now!! I was scared of how I'd love with myself if I failed to save you!!"

"It's okay, Pete. I will find some way to live, away from this life of organised crime."

"What about me, then? Are you going to leave me alone?"

"You're always welcome in my life. Whenever, wherever. You still didn't tell me if I'm forgiven."

"Not yet. Try again."

"I've run out of ideas, Pete. Tell me how or why now, please."

"You should try again. Because third time's the charm."

Vegas smiled like a baby. "I still don't know what I can do."

"I think I might forgive you if you do as I say."

"Anything for you. I'd follow you to the ends of the world."

"Apologize to Porsche & Mr Kinn. I'll ensure they don't kill you."

"Done."

"You must let me take care of both Tankhun & grandma besides you."

"If that means you'll take care of me as well. Double yes."

"And lastly, recover soon so that..."

"Make love to me."
