"Oh come on it meant nothing!" Ace shouted as he followed Betsy, currently storming away from his house.

The party still blaring behind him as he attempted to stumble in a straight line after her.

"You say that every time Merrill!" She snapped back at him. "The fact there is an every time shows something clearly isn't right!"

She stopped walking and turned to face him as he tried his hardest to stand upright and focus on the real her, not the other two he was seeing.

"Okay but this time I mean it!" He tried to explain. "It really didn't mean anything."

Betsy scoffed as she crossed her arms and glared at him. "Do you even actually still give a shit about me?"

"Course I do!" He chucked his bottle on the floor as the glass smashed everywhere. "I beat up that guy for you the other day didn't I?!"

"I told you to leave him alone Ace!" She waved her arms around angrily at him. "I fucking told you to leave him alone and apparently in Merrill language that means beat the fucker to a pulp!"

"He was trying to fucking sleep with you! What else was I gonna do?!" Ace snapped.

Neither seemed to care they were probably waking up half the street. Not that it was unusual, the arguments between Ace and Betsy were ones the entire of Castle Rock knew about.

"Did it ever occur to you he actually wasn't?! That maybe he was just being nice and complimenting me!"

Ace scoffed and waved his arms around. "Oh please I saw what you were wearing, there weren't nothing nice about his thought pattern."

"Well it was nice to have a compliment anyway!"

"I compliment you!"

"When you want sex Ace!" Betsy fired out. "That's the only time you're ever nice, you either want sex or you're drunk."

"Well tell me what you fucking want!" He shouted back at her.

"A faithful fucking boyfriend Merrill!" She shouted as loud as she could. "Or is that too much to ask for?!" She snapped sarcastically.

Ace was silent. He was anything but faithful. Betsy sighed as she held her hands up slowly and began walking away.

"Whatever Ace, I'm done." She mumbled as she went to go.

"Right well are you still coming to the race tomorrow?"

"No." She sighed out as she turned to give him one final look. "When I say I'm done, I'm meaning we're done. This relationship," she gestured between them. "Is over. Go fuck whoever you want."

Yet just as she went to walk away, their attention was diverted by another argument happening across the street.

"Don't fucking lie to me!" The girl shouted as she chucked the glass at him.

Ace and Betsy watched as he dodged it and it smashed against the wall behind him.

"I fucking told you she was just a friend!" He tried to explain.

The girl scoffed as she backed away. "Yeah because I go around sticking my tongue down all my mates throats that are the opposite gender!" She snapped sarcastically.

Betsy turned and glared at Ace with a raised eyebrow.

"I fucking told you it didn't mean anything!" Ace snapped back.

"It didn't mean anything!" The guy shouted back at her.

"Just fuck off Teddy!" She shouted as she attempted to walk off. "We're fucking done."

"You don't mean that!" He tried to shout for her back.

"No I really fucking do! Good luck at the fucking race tomorrow but I ain't gonna be there!" She snapped as she turned to walk off.

"Will you quit fucking staring at me like that?!" Ace snapped at Betsy as it caught the attention of the couple across the road.

The four all stared at each other.

"The fuck you looking at?!" The girl snapped as she took a few steps closer.

"Luna leave it." The guy tried to get her to stay back.

"No. You don't get to tell me what to do anymore. We're fucking done. Over. Finished. No more." She snapped at him before taking a few steps closer to Ace and Betsy.

"Know the closest way to the bar?" She asked angrily.

"Luna-"

"FUCK OFF!" She snapped at him before walking closer to Ace and Betsy.

"Bar?"

Betsy turned and glared at Ace again as he glared at her.

"You fucking ditched me, I can do what I want." He snapped back at her. "It's that way." He gestured down the street.

"Oh sure another girl for you to fuck and chuck, watch this one sweetheart, he's a slippery fucking fish." Betsy snapped out at Luna.

Luna scoffed. "Who the fuck are you talking to like that?!"

Betsy instantly got her heckles up. "Honestly not sure, giving you fair warning as a fellow girl who got cheated on."

"You don't know shit about me." Luna snapped as she took a step closer.

Betsy scoffed. "Can see why he cheated." She snarled out as she looked Luna up and down.

Theodore instantly went to grab onto Luna's shoulders but she shook him off.

"What part of don't fucking touch me don't you understand?!" She snapped out at him.

"Bar?" She fired her question out to Ace again.

Ace simply raised his hand and pointed. Betsy scoffed.

"Surprised you haven't invited her in."

Ace glared at her. "Nah fuck this, you've just split up with me." He turned to Luna. "Party?" He asked as he pointed behind them to his house.

"Luna don't-"

"FUCK OFF!" She shouted at him again, before looking back to Ace. "Party?"

Ace gave her a small nod as she began walking over to his house.

"Luna can we at least fucking talk about-" Theodore tried to follow her.

Luna turned to snap at him but stopped as she saw Ace move, blocking his path.

"I'll talk to you when you've come to your senses then sweetheart." He spoke over Ace's shoulder at her. "And when you're back where you belong." He glared at Ace.

Theodore turned and began to walk away. Ace looked over at Betsy as she glared at him.

"You're really doing this Ace?" She sighed out at him.

"You broke up with me." He snapped back before turning and walking over to Luna.

The pair shared a small look as Ace led her inside, leaving Betsy to storm off alone.

"The names Ace." He mumbled as he let her in the house.

"Luna." She mumbled in response as she looked around at the many people inside.

Drinks were flowing and there were couples everywhere.

"Drink?" He asked as he leant down to her ear, trying to talk over the music.

She nodded quickly, she needed it.
