Book 2: Chapter #14

The team was ready, they were heading to the modified quinjet to go and attack the supercarrier, with Tony sitting the mission out. 

The team rallied up at the quinjet and were waiting as for Y/N, they heard footsteps approaching and turned to see him with a pistol on his right thigh, an assault rifle across his back and a shotgun in his hands, he also had a Kukri on his left thigh, on his left wrist was a modified attachment for his wrist armour, it was a version of Natasha's widows bites that was attachable to armour, it also had an in built widows grapple. He looked like he was about to wage a one man war against the Covenant. As the jet took off Y/N stood calmly, his head was in the game. The jet shook about on take off but Y/N didn't move an inch, the jet began to ascend into the atmosphere and Y/N walked to the cockpit and pressed the cloaking button, making the ship invisible to the covenant. 

They neared the supercarrier and Y/N readied his weapons, as soon as they landed and the air stair lowered Y/N charged out of the jet and had begun to wipe out the covenant manning the hangar.

"Guess he's not taking the stealthy approach until we reach high charity." Natasha stated as she and the rest of the team rushed out to engage with the enemies, Y/N grappled an energy battery into his hands and threw it at a crowd of grunts, shooting the battery cell so that it blew up in the aliens faces.

Y/N continued his charge and vaulted over and elite, turning in mid air and throwing a picked up plasma grenade onto the elites back, Y/N landed in a recovery roll and used his arm to cover his visor from the blood of the elite. As Y/N stood up he heard brutes charging him, he turned to see a chieftain rushing towards him with a gravity hammer, he rolled under the gravity hammer attack and picked up the dead elites energy sword and used it to stab the first brute before pulling the blade from its chest and throwing it at another nearby brute that was too slow and caught off guard to be able to stop the incoming sword, the energy sword pierced the brutes chest. Y/N took a moment to breath but it was cut short by the ground shaking beneath them, Y/N turned to see a covenant hunter.

"Everyone get to cover!" Y/N called out as the team took cover, Y/N pulled out a frag grenade and waited for the hunter to charge it's shot up, as the blast fired Y/N rolled out of the way and began to sprint at the giant armoured alien and jumped at it, running up the shield on the Hunters left arm before jumping onto the aliens back, Y/N shoved the grenade inside the hunters body and backflipped off landing and covering his visor with his arm, the grenade went off and the Hunters blood splattered all over Y/N's arm as it rained down slightly on his helmet as well.

Y/N stood up and used his hand to wipe the luminous orange goo off of his armour before drawing his assault rifle again, the team stood up from behind their cover and saw the remains of the hunter, the worms that made up its body were still wriggling, one of which wriggled towards Y/N who just stomped on it.

"Let's go, the bridge is this way." Y/N said with a monotone voice as he lead the team through the ship. "Jocasta, is FRIDAY on this ship?"

"Affirmative, sir, she's located in the brig along with another unknown prisoner and is currently being tortured for information." JOCASTA said as Y/N let out an angry growl.

The team tried to keep up with Y/N but he was too fast as he sprinted ahead, decimating wave after wave of covenant troops, on one occasion Y/N picked up a grunt and threw it at its allies before shooting the methane tank on it's back, the explosion killing it's allies. The door to the brig opened and Y/N stood there, he was greeted by a brute chieftain wielding a unique gravity hammer.

The chieftain began to perform tricks with its hammer to show off as Y/N stood there watching for a second before pulling out his magnum and shooting the alien right between the eyes like it was nothing.

"Clearly he's never seen Indiana Jones." Y/N muttered to himself as he approached the console where FRIDAY was laying with her back to him, she looked like she was hurt, he leaned against it and rested his head on his wrist.

"You came?" FRIDAY asked in disbelief as she looked up at Y/N.

"Well, I can't leave one of my closest friends behind." Y/N said warmly as FRIDAY looked up at him and smiled.

"I really did choose wisely with you huh, Boss." FRIDAY said as she climbed to her feet.

"Are you okay?" Y/N asked in a concerned tone as FRIDAY looked touched that he cared.

 "Yes, I'll live. Do you have a plan?"

"Thought I'd try shooting my way out and blowing things up, mix things up a little." Y/N joked as FRIDAY smirked. She composed herself and nodded, Y/N pulled the chip from the console and inserted it into his helmet, FRIDAY instantly brought up the HUD on his visor.

"Just try and keep your head down, there's two of us in here remember." FRIDAY referenced as Y/N smirked in his helmet before heading to the bridge...
