Chapter 4

3rd Person

2 Months later

The night is now 2 months ago. The night Peter lost the two most important people in his life.

Since then, Peter has changed. He is wracked with guilt. Every night when he closes his eyes he sees his aunt and uncle with blood all over their bodies blaming him for what happened. Because of these nightmares, Peter hardly sleeps at all. He just lies in bed at night and cries. He hardly ever goes out. Only to school, to go shopping for groceries or to visit their graves.

At school, his eagerness to learn and to be the best in school is gone. He just sits at the table and stares at the floor.

The only positive Thing for Peter right now is that he doesn't have to worry about money issues... yet. Now that his aunt and uncle's income is gone, he has to Fall back on the family's savings. These are enough for three month's. So he had enough for one month.

Luckily he doesn't have to pay rent because the apartment was bought by the Parkers's years ago. The fact that Peter is allowed to stay in the apartment at all is thanks to the completely overcrowded children's home in the City.

At the age of 16 he is considered a underage and should actually be taken to a children's home by the youth welfare office. But the children's shelters, like the police, are hopelessly overwhelmed, which is why it has been said that Peter can stay in his apartment.

Peter is very grateful for that. After losing his family, he didn't want to lose his home as well.

But at the moment he is not at home but with his aunt and uncle.

Graveyard

In the Graveyard on the outskirts of Kuoh, Peter is standingin front of two rather small gravestones. They have the names and lifetimes of May and Ben Parker on them.

Peter looks at the gravestones with a sad look. You can clearly see the dark circles under his eyes. All Peter can think and say when he goes here is.

Peter: It's my fault... I-I'm so terribly sorry.

Shortly after these words, no louder than a whisper, come out of his mouth, Peter walks back home.

Timeskip

When he gets home, Peter ignores the large amount of rubbish in his apartment that lies there because he hasn't cleaned up in a long time and goes straight to his room and goes to bed.

Lying in his bed, Peter looks up at the ceiling. Tears Fell from his eyes without him sobbing. Every time he closes his eyes he sees them both getting shot. It makes him more and more angry with himself.

Out of frustration, he grabs his pillow and throws it against a shelf. With his enhancedpowers, the pillow hits the shelf harder, causing a small Black Box to Fall out on impact.

Peter looks confused at the box. He has never seen this box. He gets up from his bed and goes to the Box. He picks it up and looks at it briefly before opening it.

Inside the box is something wrapped in wrapping paper and a folded Letter. He sits down on his bed, takes out the letter and puts the box next to him. He unfolds the Letter. He recognizes the writing. It's his aunt's handwriting. He begins to read the Letter in his head.

Letter: Peter. You're probably wondering why this box is in your room. Well, Ben and I have been talking about you lately. About your eagerness and diligence at F.E.A.S.T. about how you balance school and your duties at F.E.A.S.T., despite your problems with the other kids. That's why we wanted to give you a gift as a reward. Something you've wanted for a long time. We are sure you will like it. And Peter, I wanted to tell you something Personal. Kuoh is getting more and more dangerous. Please my good boy, take care. Ben and I won't always be around and I want to be sure that someday when we're gone you'll take care if yourself. And don't forget the others. The people at F.E.A.S.T. and on the street. People like you Peter, people who are kind-hearted, who are helpful and who like to take care of others, there are far too few in the world. Never forget what we taught you. Always be there for the weaker ones. But I really shouldn't have to tell you that. I know you will always do the right Thing Peter. Your Aunt May.
