Chapter 21

3rd Person

It's early morning. Even before school starts, a groan or pain can be heard at a children's playground in Kuoh. The groan comes from a 17 year old brown haired boy hanging from a metal pole.

In a pathetic and embarrassing way, Issei tries to pull himself up the metal pole with his arms and do a pull-up.

Issei: Come on.*Groans*

He tries to pull himself up again. Unfortunately, his strength fails him and he let go and falls to the ground. He groans in pain as he lands on his butt.

Issei looks around the area a bit to make sure no one just saw that.

Issei: If someone like buchou or Akeno saw that, it would have been really embarrassing. Luckily nobody saw that.

Kiba: I saw it.

Issei freezes in shock. He looks behind him and sees Kiba, in school uniform and with a school bag, walking towards him.

Kiba: That was quite amusing to watch.

He said with a smile. When he gets to Issei, he holds out a hand. Issei takes his hand and Kiba pulls him back to his feet.

Issei: Thanks. What are you doing here Kiba?

He asked curiously.

Kiba: I walk to school, what else? Actually, I should ask you this question. Didn't buchou tell you to stay home and recover from your injury?

Kiba asked while looking down at Issei's leg that was injured last night.

After leaving the scene, Rias and her peerage have retreated to their club room in the old school building.

It took Rias and Akeno a few hours to heal Issei's injury. The most effective and quickest way to heal Issei would have been through bare skin to skin contact between him and Rias or Akeno.

However, Rias refused to cuddle naked with Issei so she was out. When Akeno offered this, a fountain of blood spurted from Issei's nose and he passed out. They dismissed the idea and the two healed him in a different way that didn't require physical contact but took longer and was less effective.

After a few hours, Issei woke up and Rias told him that his injury wasn't fully healed. She gave him an order to stay at home for the next 3 days. By then, the injury should have fully healed.

Kiba: Buchou will be upset if she finds out that you disobey her. What are you doing here?

Kiba asked.

Issei: What does it look like? I work out.

Kiba: And embarrassing yourself?

Issei wants to counter him but all he can say is.

Issei: ...Yes.

He said while feeling the humilation.

Kiba: I'm glad that you're finally training, you haven't done that before, but why now all of a sudden? Now that you're still hurt?

Issei: Because I'm tired of being the weakest.

He says as he turns around and walks back to the metal pole.

Issei: If Spiderman hadn't saved me yesterday, I'd be dead by now, and this isn't even the first time he's saved me. Before I became a devil he saved me from Yuuma and before that from some criminals.

He says as he remembers the times Spiderman saved him.

Issei: President said that Sacred Gears are powerful artifacts that make the user strong, but I'm too weak to activate mine. I finally want to be able to defend myself and not have you guys or Spiderman risking your life's to save me.
