Chapter 30

3rd Person

It's morning and Peter is on his way to school. The streets are full of cars stuck in traffic and angry drivers behind the wheel trying to get to work.

Someone who isn't used to big cities would probably feel uncomfortable here, but since Kuoh is his home, that doesn't bother Peter at all.

He takes his hand to cover his mouth when he yawns. Still tired because it's early in the morning. To be honest, aside from being tired, he's also bored.

He has gotten used to going to school with Asia. With her he had someone with whom he could get along very well. And with her he didn't feel so alone anymore.

Since she moved in with him, his home don't feel so... so lonely anymore. He really doesn't miss the time he lived alone at all.

But, for the next ten days he has to live like that again. He shakes his head to clear his thoughts as he walks through the school's front gate.

Timeskip

As soon as the school bell rings for the last time for the day, the students all quickly start packing their things to leave the classroom as quickly as possible to either go to their club or to leave the school.

Peter takes a little more time and is the last to leave the room, even after the teacher.

This day really showed him how much he doesn't miss his old life. The only people who talk to him in class and spend time with him are Asia and Issei. Now that both of them are gone, everything is back to the way it was before he was bitten by that spider. Nobody talks to him, he sits alone and he has no one who is really his friend.

He leaves the main school building and walks across the schoolyard. His eyes are directed slightly downwards to the ground.

He hasn't felt so lonely as he did today in a long time. He can hardly believe that every day of his life used to be like this.

But he can forget that now. Because now he can be positive again. Because now his tutoring session begins again with... Rias. Oh yes, she's not here either.

Peter stops walking and looks up. He sees that he is standing in front of the entrance to the old school building. He didn't even notice that he walked here subconsciously.

Sigh. His best friend is also gone. It's only for ten days, but Peter already misses them all. Although he has almost nothing to do with Rias during the school day, as the students of different years are strictly separated from each other, he does spend several hours with her every day after school.

They see each other every day. And talk with each other. Talking about their day, talking about their likings and discussing and arguing about what the best anime is.

He has to smile at the last thought. When the two otakus argue about manga and anime and the both disagree somewhere, a pout sometimes form on her face. Then she even acts like a child and turns her back to him and refuses to talk to him until he agrees with her.

Her childish behavior and her pouting are an extreme contrast to how she normally behaves.

At school she has a reputation as a beautiful, elegant and polite lady. But in these tutoring sessions, which practically can't be called tutoring sessions anymore, she is much more open and relaxed to him than her reputation at school would suggest. Around him she is much more like... herself.

Babum. Babum.

Peter's heartbeat begins to increase as he thinks about this and his face begins to turn red. Lately he's been having these reactions whenever he thinks about Rias.
