April 1980
"Baby, I want to walk on the beach."
Clay stopped reading the paper and looked up. He made eye contact with the blonde and smiled, "Okay, one second."
He folded his paper and placed it on the coffee table before standing up from his chair. He fixed his hair and straightened his top before walking over to the woman and held her waist.
"Are we going now?" She asked and caressed his cheek.
"Yes we are." Clay smiled and led them to the door. He opened it for them to go through before closing it and locking the house.
"I can't get over the view." She gushed and looked out at the beach in front of them, "I love our beach house."
Clay smiled, "Me too." He started walking, talking her with him, "So, Louise, I've been thinking."
"What have you been thinking?"
Louise Bardot. Clay had met her while buying a shirt from her store in San Fransisco and they immediately clicked. Their chemistry was undeniable and they made each other laugh. Even thought she was two years younger than him, it seemed as if they were the same age the way they interacted with each other.
"Well, you know how I'm originally from Florida...,"
She twisted the ring on her wedding finger around, "Yes?"
"Well, I was thinking about going back."
After dating for a year, Clay decided to propose. They married a month later and moved into a beautiful home by the beach.
"...to live?"
"Yes." Clay confirmed, "I know it may be surprising, but I really miss my home and the people in it." He leaned in, "Plus, I really want you to meet my family and friends."
She flung her arms around his neck, "It is a surprise...but I would love to meet your family and friends. We have been married for almost a year and I've never met any of them." She paused, "Do they even know we're married?"
Clay hesitated, "Well, no." He put his arms around her waist, "But they will soon."
"O-okay." She mumbled and hugged him close, "Do you promise?"
"I promise." Clay said and looked at her with a weak smile.
She nodded, "Okay, let's go to Florida."
Clay let out a relieved sigh and leaned in, planting a chaste kiss to her lips, "Thank you."
"Of course. I love you, I'd do anything to make you happy."
Clay froze awkwardly before nodding, "Y-yeah...thank you."

"I know Sapnap, you're confused why I'm going back." Clay muttered as he started packing his bags.
Their house was a mess. Everything was out of place and clothes were everywhere. Luggages were packed and lined up at the door to collect.
"I don't even know why I want to go back either...but I just miss everyone." He frowned and zipped the luggage up before moving it to join the others, "And I told Luke and Sam that I would be back in a year. It's been three."
He ran his hand through his hair and scanned the house, looking for anything that needed to be packed.
"I know you're disappointed in me, but this marriage will be different, I promise. This time I can assure that I won't be so focused on George, I'll make sure to care for Louise as well." He paused, "I can't exactly love her in the way she wants me to but I think that I can learn to love her back." He hummed, "Plus, it's been, what? Almost eight years since I last spoke to George...I think it's pretty safe to say that I've moved on."
