Story time

"Pipes.'' A voice whispers.

I open my once sealed eyes.
Shayne stands there and smirks.

I get up freaked out that he's in my room. While I'm half dressed.
I pull the covers securely around me. " Shayne what do you want?"

"To go on a date. With my girlfriend." He shrugs.

"Mhmm your girlfriend isn't in here. So get lost." I turn to face the wall.

"Well since you aren't my girlfriend wanna fu-k?"
I grab the nearest pillow and throw it at his head.
He ducks and laughs.

I remain in the position of looking at the wall.
"Pyper c'mon."

I mumble a no as I drift back to sleep.
"Pyper i swear if you don't get up I'll pull this cover off of you."
I ignore his warning.

He grabs my cover and pulls it from my shivering body. I quickly reposition myself.

He's silent. "Pyper what is that." He speaks.

He touches my thighs with his hands. I hurriedly grab another cover moving his hands. "Nothing." I avoid his gaze.

"Pyper answer me."

"Nothing, God!" I exasperate.

"Pyper." He sternly says.

I know he isn't gonna leave me be.

"Its just a mark. I promise." I say wishing to change the subject.

"Pyper please."

"It was an accident." Shayne lays beside me.
"Go on."
I sigh as the memories flow back in.

"I was 12. My dad was drunk. And i was visting for the weekend. And he was really abusive towards my step mom. And while i was there he tried to hit my stepmother."

I level my breathing.

"I uh put my little body in front of her to protect her. And the glass he grabbed. Went into my thigh. I was rushed to the hospital. I got stitches too many to count."

I sigh.

"The scar didn't leave. Never will."

I smile to wash the tears from coming.

"Please don't say 'oh pyper' I've heard that too many times."

"What do you want me to say?" His raspy voice asked.

"Don't say a word just hug me. Please."

We spent our 2nd date cuddling.

"Pyper!" My mom called.

I rushed down the stairs.

"Yea ma?"

"Get your sisters and brothers down here dinners ready. If they're not down here in 5mins I'm eating without them."

I nod.

"Genny, Mony, Zac, Cell time to eat!" I shout at the bottom of the steps.

They rush down the stairs.
We settle at the table to eat. My ma had cooked greens and potato salad with some baked chicken.

This was the type of food I missed when I was at my dads. Because Patricia my step mother can not cook we eat fast food.

Sucks and is unhealthy.
As we say grace and eat. I think about DOM he hasn't been around with the gang. And he doesn't have a lady friend so im really confused. He was super rude to Eva too.

I shrug to myself. I'm sure I'd figure it out.
But for now I'm just gonna enjoy my family.
