(KAZUMA'S POV)
i had returned to Konoha three days ago the Genin grew up into fine young adults. my ears twitched
"HELLLOOO, KONOHA!! YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED AT ALL!!" i lifted my head to hear someone yell. i hopped up on the top of a building and saw orange, black, and yellow standing on a pole. i shot forward and tackled the blonde
"Naruto!" i yelled. i followed Naruto while i spoke to Jiraiya so he could fill me in with the last two years i hadn't seen Naruto. i told Jiraiya that Itachi has a one year old son. Aki stopped being a ninja so she could watch their little Sora. i left them and went to sit on dad's mountain image and think. Sasuke was happier. Kakashi has a daughter named Ayame. i missed so much. Karin and Suigetsu made it safely to Konoha.
(THIRD POV)
in the desert two figures were walking to the walls of Suna. they had black cloaks with red clouds. one had blond hair while the other was hunched over and scooted beside the blonde. the blonde made a clay bird and hopped on its back and flew into the village. the Kazekage stood on the roof after the bombs exploded in the village. they then started to fight
(KAZUMA'S POV)
i was reaching for my cup of tea when it cracked
'bad omen.' i thought,'i've got a bad feeling about what's to come.' i paid and went to the Hokage tower after i saw the summoning bird for Jounins. i stepped into the room seeing Hazumi, Raiden, Haku, Kakashi, and Sakura trying to kill Naruto
"Lady fifth!! T...Terrible news!" a woman came running into the room
"now what?" Tsunade asked
"we've just received word that the Sand's Kazekage... has been kidnapped by a member of the Akatsuki!" she said. i stood in horror
"Team Kakashi and Kazuma.. i hereby amend your mission. you will leave for the sand now. assess the situation and report back immediately! afterward, you will follow Suna's orders and provide them whatever assistance they require!" Tsunade said. i ran home and packed quickly. i then ran to the gates. i sat down on Inuyasha's back holding my body
'i can't lose Gaara' i thought
"sensei!" Hazumi said running up to me. i looked at her.i can tell my eyes showed sorrow, worry, pain, and anger. i just sat in silence while Kakashi spoke to Jiraiya. we soon left
'i was just there four days ago. please Gaara be okay.' i thought
-TIMESKIP-
"What?! Gaara?!... i knew something felt wrong..." Temari said
"it's going to take three days to get to the sand... we better hurry." Kakashi said
"right! let's go!" Temari said. Naruto speed up
"Naruto no matter how much of a rush we're in... we can't break formation. calm down... didn't Lord Jiraiya just lecture you about your temper?" Kakashi said
"i hate this!" Naruto said, " i know why those guys want Gaara and me...! Sakura... now you know, too, don't you...? i don't like it...! ... the nine-tailed fox spirit sealed inside me... both Gaara and me... we're carrying monsters inside our bodies... and that's what they want! our monsters! they only see us as monsters! i don't like the way they look at us!" Naruto paused 'you and Gaara aren't the only ones that have something sealed in you' i thought
"Gaara and i... had the same kind of lonely life... but it was even worse for him... 'cuz he suffered and fought alone a lot longer! so now the Akatsuki has targeted him... just like they targeted me! it's not fair! why should his life be so full of misery all the time?! why is it always him?! you wanna know why i can't calm down? that's why! whatever happens when we get to the sand... i can't just stand back and do nothing! i have to be there for him! i have to save him for Kazuma's sake!" Naruto yelled. 'thank you Naruto' i thought. i had tears of happiness run down my face
(THIRD POV)
in Tsunade's office she looked at paperwork. she reached for her cup and it cracked
'clutter-rustle-rustle'
"just as i feared... dire omens, indeed... Shizune! Shizune, where are you?!" Tsunade yelled. she won the lottery
-SUNA-
Granny Chiyo walked into Kankuro's hospital room
"i am an expert in most poisons, but this one's beyond even me... that Sasori... he really advanced his skills..." Chiyo said
"so what now?" Baki asked
"well the only one who's more versed in antidotes than i is probably that Queen of Slugs and Elixirs, Tsunade of Konoha. during the great wars... she thoroughly deciphered all of the poisons i had synthesized compounded antidotes for them, and made a fool of me. you better summon her right away. and have her take a look. you're allies with Konoha right now, aren't you?" Chiyo said
"yes, but she is herself Hokage so i do not think she can leave her village so casually. even is she could come, it takes three days to get to Sunagakure from Konoha. and by then... besides we have already requested Konoha to dispatch a specialist team to us. all we can do now is wait and pray for their timely arrival..." Baki said
-KONOHA-
"ACHOO!"
"Master Ebisu are you all right?" Moegi asked
"well, i think i soaked in the hot springs a little too long yesterday." Ebisu said
"but this is our first mission as official shinobi! i hope you didn't catch cold peeping! SUPER-PERV!" Konohamaru yelled
"i'm giving you an identical mission as team Kakashi and Kazuma. join them in the sand and see that they complete their assigned task. understood?!" Tsunade asked
"Roger!" Gai said
"A..ACHOO"
"are you sick?" Tsunade asked
"nah, i'm getting allergies... ACHOOF." Gai said, "all right , everyone! we reach the sand in a day!"
"nay, master! in half a day!!" Lee yelled
"i thought it took like three days..." Neji said
"if you keep talking the whole time, it'll seem like forever... cut it out!" Ten Ten said
"can we just leave already." Kanade said calmly
(KAZUMA'S POV)
i sat by the wall hugging my legs to my chest. Kankuro kept screaming in pain every time Sakura and Hazumi pulled poison out of him. i fiddled with the teddy bear Gaara gave me. i let tears run down my face
"what are you to Gaara?" i looked up to see Granny Chiyo
"i love him, Granny Chiyo. i was the only one who stayed with him when we were little. i'm also his fiance." i said. i felt a hand rest on my head. i looked to see Naruto. he sat down and pulled me into his chest.
"please save him, Naruto." i whispered letting sleep take me. i stayed up for almost eighty hours straight. i haven't slept since we left Konoha.
