ACT 1, SCENE 1: IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH PARENTS

Ekaterina Stepalova, a 3rd year medical student at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, is just taking so long in the shower despite having been called three times for dinner. Well, she's not really taking long in the shower taking a shower, but, actually having mental breakdown.
Unfinished research, three upcoming exams this week, practicum tomorrow and all of the extra readings are killing her. The never ending university work and the strict professors are like boulders crushing her that are handed by her parents. That's right, she never wanted this. She wanted to be a business woman- her own boss. Though, her parents has other plans. They think that being a doctor will give the family prestige and money and they will just have a businessman husband for her. They completely misunderstood what she wanted. They thought that she just wanted a business in the family; they thought that she was not serious when she said she is going to establish her own business.
She tidied herself up and quickly left the bathroom. The family is already sitting together and eating. There was plenty of food, and no one starves in the family. They have enough money to live a carefree life and for her to pursue medicine. They all looked so happy- how unfair, she thought. How can they be so happy while inflicting pain to their daughter's emotion and mental health.
They all looked at the television. The news caught their undivided attention.
BREAKING NEWS: THREE UNKNOWN PEOPLE WEARING BLACK ESCAPED THE BUILDING IN RUINS AFTER THE FIRE. THEIR PERSONALITIES ARE UNKNOWN AND THE AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING THE THREE PRIMARY SUSPECT THAT POSSIBLY CAUSED THE FIRE.
"It's probably just another stunt of the kids nowadays." their father stated. "It's all this social media that's killing their brains" their mother followed.

Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner are the ones given the assignment to assassinate the CEO of the Titan Enterprises together with the company's illegal firearm stash that no one knows but the UN. Titan enterprises planned to create a fuss with the Russian government by recruiting the people of the nation to rebel against the government,
It's a simple task, really. Anyone from the regiment can do it fast without anyone detecting them. They don't even need to bring three people to do it, but just to be faster, they had two others spread fire quickly through the building which later followed by a massive explosion because of the stash of firearm in the basement of the building.
That is why Captain Levi, Section Commander Hange and Commander Erwin are furious. It was such an easy task, a piece of cake if you will; and yet they were seen leaving the scene. The UN will rat them over this. After decades of their regiment existing behind the closet, this is the first time that the world had a glimpse of them.
Turns out, Reiner has gone soft and decided to rescue the 4 year old daughter of the CEO. The kid was only visiting his disgusting father without knowing anything. Although it is a reasonable cause, it is still not a good reason for even a single person to see them. They are the scout regiment, they are not soldiers nor warriors that aims to protect every single being. They are task to create big sacrifices for world peace. They can't save every living innocent creatures on their task just because they pity them. They are truly far from soldiers. They are more likely to be spies and assassins. That's their work anyways. They assassinate the leaders that plan to destroy peace in a country and the corrupt leaders that use the government's money to satisfy their greed. They also spy on information between countries to know every secret plan that could possibly destroy other countries. And well, whenever there is an inevitable war, they're the first and last to arrive. How so? They survey the area and leave before anything starts and go back when everything's done to finish up. That's how they work.
Reiner is demoted that night; Annie and Bertholdt were assigned in a different task and is suspended for 2 months.
