1. on the run

November 6th 1983, Hawkins Indiana

"Come on. One last time and then I will let you go" Papa said. He was standing behind a glass window, waiting for a tired little girl to use her powers. She was Brenners best girl with the hardest program out of everybody. She also just got back from a mission and was very exhausted. 014 had the heartbeat scanner on her head while she focused on a piece of wood that sat in front of her on a metal sheet. The branch creaked and slowly split, the edges slowly gaining a burning look. After a few seconds she lit the wood on fire.

Yes, she has pyrokinesis. I would even say more she doesn't have only one power. She has 3. pyrokinesis, telekinesis and she can teleport by creating a blue-white-ish portal and walking through.

After she set the wood on fire, Brenner smiled behind the glass. "Good girl. Now again" he said. They have been training for nearly an hour and the girl was completely exhausted from the mission before the training as well. The girl looked at the one-way glass, behind which he was standing.

She looked at it in pain and disbelief. "Come on, again" he said. The girl looked away from the glass to the piece of wood that was slowly burning to its ashes. Next to it, was another one. She turned to it and started staring daggers into it. It gave out a quiet creak, but nothing more. She desperately looked at it, hoping, no, wishing that it will light up again like the other one did just a few seconds prior, but it didn't.

The girls eyes widened. She stared at it again, almost drilling a hole into it with her eyes. She really wanted it to light up on fire because she knew what would happen if she couldn't. She could not let it happen to her again. It had to light up, but it didn't.

Brenner sighed and said "Escort her into the room" and directly after, two men came into the room, to bring her to the little room, where she would be locked up for god knows how long.

"No!" the girl screamed. Both of the men were scared of 014, so as she screamed, they took a step back. 014 let some little flames light up at her fingertips that slowly got bigger and bigger. Her eyes started to glow a bright red.

Both of the men took another step back. "014 stop
this now! They won't hurt you!" Brenner screamed through his microphone. But she didn't believe him. She was in this shithole long enough to understand that they would hurt her.

She looked between the two men. She knew that she couldn't take it anymore. She had to flee. The two men were coming closer and closer. They were really close as one of them grabbed 014 hand. She send a flame trough his body and he fell on the ground screaming while his insides where set on fire. The second man looked at his screaming college and was about to grab the girl as she send him flying right into the one way glass, crashing it in while doing so. The glass shattered, flying in every direction possible and revealing an angry Brenner with his cheek cut.

Now there was no going back. She ran past the, at this point dead man, into the corridor. "No!" Brenner was screaming. He hit the alarm button and a loud and very annoying siren was heard in the whole building.

The girl ran through a what it feels like an endless amount of corridors, each one looking the same as the other one. When she turned a corner, she ran into another kid. The girl she ran into was scared, her breathing way off. Somehow they knew each other. A few seconds passed as 014 recognized her. They often saw each other in the corridors and were paired up in some of the resent tasks they had to complete. "Hey!" both of them heard. They looked in the direction from where the sound was coming from, and saw that a few lab coats were running towards them.
