——"Separate the weak from the obsolete." The voice of Biggie Smalls flowed throughout Cairo's ears as "Who Shot Ya" played throughout his barbershop.
He sat at his desk in his office figuring out what products needed to be restocked and checking out other financial things. It was an off day for all other employees but on his end, the work never stops.
"It's on nigga, fuck all that bickering beef." He rapped along with Biggie's voice knowing all the lyrics by heart.
Preferably, he was more a fan of old school music whilst working because it put me in the mood for some reason. The hard body raps simply helping him throughout the day.
Owning multiple business is indeed hard but Cairo's motivation to become successful made it better. His only goal was to better himself and make his own self proud.
Hearing a loud knock coming from the front of the shop he fell confused. Picking up his phone he took a look at the cameras seeing his auntie standing outside with a bag in her hand. He got up walking to the front, unlocking the main door. A small smile graced her face as he came into her view. "Hey, baby."
"Wassup Ma." He engulfed her in a hug.
He never failed to miss the smile that came across her face whenever she was addressed as "Ma".
"Don't wassup me, boy. You act like you can't come by and see your auntie. Huh?"
Cairo shook his head slightly, "I've been busy."
"I know baby, I'm so proud of you." She spoke, looking around slightly as they made their way back to his office. "Here." She held out the grocery bag in her hand.
"Thanks."
He untied the knot pulling out the styrofoam container and opened it up seeing smothered turkey wings, yams, and greens.
"I figured you'd finally eat if I brought you something that I cooked."
He nodded, taking a seat in his desk chair. "I have been eating though."
Giving him a look as if she knew he was lying, she shook her head. "Have you at least been trying to get some sleep lately?"
"I try. I'm only able to get an hour or two sometimes only thirty minutes."
"Well, you're trying at the least."
Silence ensued between the both of them as Cairo went back to typing on his computer. Leaning back in his desk chair, he noticed her pick up a clear picture frame that was laid by a cup of pens.
