——"My feet hurt like hell," Haven mumbled, getting into her car. She had just left the salon, after having to do four heads for the day.
Rather than driving back directly home, she decided to make a stop at her grandparents considering the fact she hadn't stopped by in a minute.
She used her key and entered the house spotting her grandfather's recliner chair in the same spot as always. She walked further through the house seeing her grandma sitting at the dining room table with the house phone up to her ear, her legs crossed with her robe on and a mug in her hand.
"Granny?"
"I'll call you back, my granddaughter is here." She spoke hanging up the phone and placing it face down on the table. "LoLo, where you coming from girl?"
A smile graced Havens face at the sing-song tone of her voice as she let out my nickname. She came up with it due to her middle name being Lourdes. It stuck with her for years and she never failed to not say it in the same tone.
"Work." She walked over to the infamous cookie jar reaching in and grabbing a few. "It's almost empty," She said referring to the very little amount of cookies left.
"I'll refill it later, how's that brother of yours?"
"He's good, living his best life as always."
"Tell him I need some great grand-babies as soon as possible." Her face fell serious. "You're not shacking up no time soon and my time is ticking. I need my babies." She spoke seriously.
"They don't want kids granny. They want to live the rich auntie and uncle life."
Although, Nasir wasn't my grandma's blood she treated him as if he was calling him her grandson.
"I need some great grand babies so I guess I gotta turn to you. Go ahead and pop em' out."
"I'm not popping sh..." She trailed off before covering up me about to curse. "Nothing out until there's a ring on my finger,"
"I guess imma have to wait patiently then."
She nodded before growing silent, it seemed as if she was pondering on a thought yet deciding to speak on it or not.
"That old friend of yours came by the daycare yesterday morning." She said folding her arms before leaning back.
"What old friend?"
