It had been almost a week since Haven found out she was pregnant. Although it wasn't what she initially thought her body was going through, she couldn't be happier. Today was her first appointment with her OBGYN. She and Cairo had searched high and low, meticulously checking all the ratings and reviews.

Tori had raved endlessly about her own OBGYN, praising how the doctor had made her pregnancy and birthing experience positive and comforting. Without telling her friends about her pregnancy, Haven had Cairo discreetly ask AJ for the doctor's name, and he delivered the recommendation.

Standing in her closet, she hurried to get ready. She had been able to sleep in that morning since she wasn't going to work until after her appointment. She reached for her matching Figs scrub set and zipped up the jacket before slipping into her work shoes.

She wasn't rushing to get to the appointment itself, but she was determined not to miss the Chick-fil-A breakfast line. With plenty of time to spare, her plan was simple: grab breakfast, eat while parked, and then head to the doctor's office.

After securing her braids in a low ponytail, taking care to lay her edges, she spritzed on her favorite perfume and grabbed her work bag. She was out the door in no time. The Chick-fil-A line wasn't too long, and she pulled up to the window with a smile. The worker greeted her warmly.

"Good morning, welcome to Chick-fil-A! How can I serve you today?"

"Good morning!" Haven smiled. "Can I get a chicken mini meal with a sweet tea? And a parfait with honey on the side, please?"

Absolutely! Anything else for you?"

"That's all."

After paying and receiving her order, Haven found a parking spot, eager to enjoy her breakfast. She took her time eating, scrolling through TikTok, her For You Page was speaking to her this morning as everything had been hit with the repost button.

Just as she was finishing her meal, her phone rang. Cairo's name lit up the screen. "Hello,"

Hey," Haven responded, her eyes catching the reflection of herself in the image of her. The sun seemed to be glowing down on her, highlighting her features. She smiled softly at the sight.

"Ooo, look at you, baby," Cairo looked down, seeming to notice the glow too. His sweet-talking made her softly laugh. "Where you at?" he asked.

"Parked at Chick-fil-A, eating,"

"Of course you are." He shook his head. "I give you two days tops before you're over it."

Haven scrunched her face up. "Why would you say that? I feel like you just jinxed me."

"Sorry, baby, but it's the truth,"

Haven couldn't deny it—she was amid a week-long hyper-fixation on Chick-fil-A's food. Normally not a breakfast person, she now had no choice but to prioritize morning meals. Their breakfast was the only thing she could stomach due to the smell and taste of eggs making her nauseous lately. Breakfast sandwiches from other places needed eggs to taste good, but Chick-fil-A's didn't, making it her go-to choice.
