Chapter 24

I replied to their e-mail. I said there that I would publish my book. I'm hesitating at first because it might be the reason why I won't come back to Italy but there's a part of me wanting to publish my book and meet some of my readers. 

Kinabukasan, maaga akong umalis ng bahay dahil pupunta ako roon sa company na nag e-mail sa 'kin. Thank god dahil malapit lang iyon. 

"Good morning. I'm writer alwaysloveyou. This company emailed me last night." I formally said to the girl in the lobby. 

"Oh! Good morning, Ma'am. Let me guide you to the office." 

Sumunod lang ako sa kaniya. 

I don't know but I feel nervous. My hands were shaking and my heart is beating so fast. This will be my first time meeting someone as a writer. 

"Nasa meeting pa po si Sir. Can you wait here for a few minutes?" Sabi sa akin nung babae and I just nodded. 

Naghintay ako sa isang room at binigyan pa nila ako ng kape. They also gave me a brochure and it's about their company. 

Most of the famous authors came here also to publish their books. Halos lahat ng books na na-pu-publish nila ay laging sumisikat. They also have other companies sa iba't ibang lugar dito sa Pilipinas but base on their brochure heto ang main company nila.

Maya-maya may kumatok sa pinto. Bumukas ito at bumungad sa akin ang babae kanina. 

"Ma'am, punta na po tayo sa office ni Sir." Sabi niya at agad naman akong tumayo. 

Sa sobrang kaba ko, hindi ko na ininom 'yung kape kanina dahil baka mag-palpitate pa ako. 

As I opened the door of the CEO's office, I saw him. He was looking out the window while holding a folder in his other hand. When he looked at me, I froze.

We've stared at each other for a long time. I didn't know what to do. I never expected that I will meet him. 

I looked at him but I felt like I didn't know the person in front of me anymore. Everything has changed in him. Parang ang hirap na niyang basahin. He was looking at me innocently but I feel there was something more inside.

The way his chocolate brown eyes look at me makes me feel the same. The way he looks at me is still the same as before. 

"Vince?" I asked curiously.

I acted casually because I didn't know how to react. 

8 years had passed, of course he'll change. People change. Sa loob ng walong taon, kahit isang beses hindi kami nag-usap o wala kaming kahit anong communication. We never contact each other. We never text and call. Before nakikita ko siya sa camera habang ka-video call ko sila Ivy pero hindi siya nakikisali sa call. Sa lahat ng tao na kakilala ko sa Pilipinas, siya lang ang hindi ko na nakausap.

People change because they learn from their mistakes. Some people change because they wanted to do something right. Because they wanted to do better than before. They wanted to witness and see better results for the things they are not good at before.

Living makes people change. You can't experience one day in your life when you don't change. As long as you're conscious and aware of what's going on around you, change is inevitable. Slow change and fast change is depending on the activity level and the challenges a person faces. The willingness of a person to adapt and their drive to learn both influence change. A person with a spirit of adventure looks to new experiences to sate their interests.

"B-Briana?" His face softened. "Y-You're the author?" He looks startled. 

"Uh, yes." Sagot ko na lang. "Sorry, hindi ko alam na... Ikaw pala 'yung may-ari nito."
