Chapter 29.

Radebe was Adelle's partner when she was still in the force, he's know Jace since he was still in Adelle's tummy. He knew his father and he was a good man, died in the line of duty, Adelle never got married or dated after that, that was 12 years ago, she should have moved on or at least tried.

Jace looked down at his hands, he has killed, tortured, he has sold drugs that killed people, more people than he can count. What the fuck is wrong with him? He's not quitting, he can't quit, not now. And besides he has an army who depends on him, the Eighty Nine's, if he quits what will happen to their families?.

Muzi is still unconscious but the doctor said he'll be okay, the worst is over all they need now is patience. He was just lying there with pipes connected to him, he looked like a zombie. Lizzy brushed his face and gave him a kiss on the forehead, she loves him but will not admit it.

"Let's go home".

"But what about Muzi?".

Jace just gave me that look, we talked about this. The doctor was happy with my results in the morning and had no reason to keep me anymore, I was happy the cramps and the pain was gone. The male nurse was pleased to hear that, he told me to take it easy and not get stressed, he said that sentence looking at Jace making me smile.

"Let's go".

I could argue if I want but it's not changing anything, we're going home and they are going to war. I don't want them to go, of course I don't, whoever's trying to kill them, us, is dangerous. And losing one of them will be more than I can take, I can't lose them. I need a shower, I need to sleep and eat. Jace took my my hand and kissed it. I looked up at him and he wasn't even smiling, even if I try, I can't get him not to go.

I took his hand and pressed it against my stomach instead and mine on top of his. He just looked at me besides him and I just stared back at him, he knows what I'm trying to do and it's not working. He looked back at the road and parked outside our house. He helped me out of the car and opened the door for me, locking it behind him.

I walked up the stairs already undressing and him behind me, I'm obsessed with the upstairs bathroom, I don't know why because I know very well I shouldn't be walking up the stairs. I threw the gun on the bed when we got in the bedroom, I then turned around and threw my arms around his neck. Tears already forming in my eyes.

He just held me close kissing my neck, I moved back and held his face between both my hands. No matter what I say, he won't change his mind. He moved down to my stomach kissing it and obviously she kicked, she loves her father. He moved up to my face kissing my forehead. I held his face again.

"I need to shower, don't leave before I finish".He just nod, I looked at him, he smiled."I'm serious, Jace".

He wiped my cheeks."I know, I'll be right here".

"I love you, be careful, you brought her here you better watch her grow up".

"I said I'll...".

"Do you have to though? Can't you just let it go?".

"Remember what the nurse and the doctor said, go bath, I love you".

I just stared back at him, he smiled, I just stood there staring at him and his smile didn't fade, he pulled me to him again, burying his head on my neck. I don't want to let him go but if he doesn't go and something bad happens to anyone, he'll never forgive himself. I sighed moving back holding his cheeks giving him a kiss.

Jace got out of the car and walked in the warehouse, all the Eighty Nine's followed him in, he walked up to everyone standing around the table, they made way. He put his hands on the table and looked up at his men, they all huddled together around the table, a map on the table, the most important thing for the day.
