Burning Darkness [ Under Heavy Construction]

Chapter 15

Ronald and his friends stood a few feet in front of us with a devious smirk on their faces. "I thought you guys were dead" said Devonte.

"I didn't kill them, but I was sure the debris did" said Rachel.
"Well someone had a change of heart" Ronald said as he turned his head my way.

Ronald turned into a spider. The top half of their body was human(except for their mouth) and the bottom half was a spider. He signaled the others to do the same. "We should split up" said Rachel.

"I'm all for it" I said. "Of course we should" Devonte said sarcastically. "Comeback here, once you've taken care of them" I said. "Right" they said in unison.

Rachel took off in a windy dash towards the right. "Don't let her get away!" One of the spiders chased after Rachel.

Devonte summoned his sword and blasted a powerful stream of water at the other spider. He easily dodged it and Devonte sprinted towards the left, with his enemy right behind him.

"You couldn't kill me last time, what makes this time any different?"

I summoned up my sword and held it out. "Ooh, so you are one of the chosen wielders. NOT IMPRESSED!"

He charged at me, I rolled off to the side and ran straight ahead. Time to settle the score.

Rachel

I glanced behind me and the spider was not too far away. I turned a corner into a big crowd of people crossing the street. It was a big intersection, but there weren't any cars.

Maybe they could help me.

"Hey!" Everyone looked at me and kept walking. "There's a big spider coming!" Still no one seemed to noticed.

I stopped and tried to get their attention, but they only stared and whispered amongst themselves.

Great. I turned around and redirected a sticky glob of gunk. 3 more flew my way.

I jumped back avoiding the first, ducked to weave the second, and side stepped to dodge the third.

I shot a quick blast of wind knocking it off its legs. "Do you not see this thing!!!!" They kept walking, why can't they see him.

The spider rose and I conjured up my vortex. It swirled around me with so much energy.

"ARRRRGH, COLE IS ANGRYY!!!" It actually had a name, well he. Cole rushed me head on and I stood still.

Once withthin striking distance, my vortex blasted him back, I jumped in the air and grabbed a sai.

He shot gunk at me, but luckily my vortex blocked them. I found an opening and launched a sai.

With help from the vortex, it forcfully hit his chest and he stumbled backwards, howling in rage.

I came down gracefully, but not fast enough as he caught me with a shot of gunk in my arm.

It felt like I was hit by one of Emma's rocks. I didn't let that slow me down. Cole charged me and I avoided his first bite and took out another sai.

He clawed at me and couldn't land a single hit, but I couldn't find any openings to punish. Cole kept the attacks coming, I waited patiently and plunged a sai right in his gut.

He howled and continued the attack. I blocked my face as his claws slid down my arm.

With the palm of my hand, a blast of wind sent him sailing through a stop sign.

I grabbed another sai and waited for him to get up. Cole got up and rushed me once more.

I held my hand out signaling him to stop, but he kept coming. My vortex blasted 5 strong gusts of wind to hold him in his tracks.
