"Follow me" she said. We walked out of the alley and on to the sidewalk. I didn't realize how beautiful the Fire District was at night. Instead of your typical street light, it was actual fire.

Fire of all colors. Purple, Green, blue, and white. I looked in awe as we continued into the night. A gust of warm air hit my face, making me close my eyes and smile.

Who would want to sleep during the night. I felt as if my energy was put at ease. "Admiring your element's District I see."

I nervously smiled while scratching the back of my head. "Yeah, its amazing here" I said. "It's the little details that interest me."

Emma smirked and shook her head. She folded her arms then started swinging her foot out with each step she took. "D-Devin what I'm about to tell you isn't easy" she swallowed hard.

Emma tightly shut her eyes, holding back tears she wanted to let out. "She won't let me tell you everything...a-and you have a right to know about your p-past."

My past? But I already know where I was raised. Who is she? I dropped my gaze to the ground. Emma saw the confusion in my face and sighed.

"M-my.....mom."

Emma's POV. *After Devin kills Ronald*

"Why did she call me? I-I didn't do anything wrong." I nibbled on my nails and paced back in forth. I looked up at the big green and yellow metal door and my spine tingled.

I can't do it. I turned my back to the door and begin walking away. The metal doors squeaked open, with echoes of footsteps. I froze in place and cursed under my breath. "Emma, sweetheart you've been out here this entire time."

"Uhh.." I straightened up and turned to face the Empress of Earth, aka.....my mother. "I was just going to get a snack." My mom's scowl made it hard for me to keep my composure. She knew when I wasn't being honest.

My mom looked so much like me, it's scary. My raven black hair has grown just passed my shoulders, the same as my mom. Only age and a couple of her battle scars could tell us apart.

She was dressed in her Empress attire. A tank top with a black vest over it, capri's and 2 inch heels. Tan and different shades of green made up the color of her trenchcoat. Mother always let the sleeves dangle on the side, she didn't like how it felt on her arms

"Darling there will be time to stuff your face later." She placed a hand on my back and guided me towards the door. The doors closed shut behind us with a loud bang.

"I thought I would have to come after you again dear" she said calmly. I didn't make a sound, only the voices of her workers were heard.

She moved her hand in a circular motion. "Relax Emma. I just want to have a word with you."

If she really wanted to talk, she wouldn't have summoned me to her throne room. This is where she gives out orders for her...private servants to you know, kill.

Stone pillars held up the ceiling, banners and statues decorated the room. Above her throne, was a picture of us. My mom, my dad, and my older sister. I cringe every time I come here.

Just the thought of knowing it's there brings bad memories. My dad and sister were killed carrying out one of my mom's assassinations 12 years ago. They're on my mind everyday. I looked up to Sarah, I wanted to be like her. Sarah was only 19.....

I pushed the thought out of my mind, to avoid crying. We stopped in the middle of the throne room.

Mother placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled. "You can't tell Devin the full truth, the time isn't right." I yanked my shoulder back in anger.
