How Could I be so Oblivious? (Ronance)

"Nance?"

Robin frowns. It felt like her heart dropped for a moment. Thoughts spiral through her head. Was Nancy still into Steve? Was Steve still into Nancy? Would they even get back together or confess their love to one nother? She was more afraid than anything, because the way Nancy looked at Steve was the kind of stare that is romantic.

Robin steps out of the pool and sits on the edge of the pool again. Nancy notices before the others do.

"Robin what are you doing?"
"Oh uh I just felt lightheaded again so I don't think I can swim." Nancy frowns and says, "Okay.."
Robin sighs and takes a glance at Eddie, who is in the pool, not looking the best. Then Robin had a idea light up inside her.

Steve liked Eddie. There was no way he had a chance with Nancy. yes, it was a bit messed up to think, but it's not like she said it out loud. Robin smiled to herself thinking. She continued to watch as Eddie, Steve, and Nancy were having fun in the pool. But her eyes were mostly on Nancy.

When they were going in the car, Nancy sat next to Robin in the back.
"Rob you okay now?"
"Oh yeah, I just felt dizzy but I'm okay now," she smiles.

They stared at eachother for a moment. Robin looks down to see Nancy's hand on hers. Robin didn't know how to feel. Was Nancy playing with her? But for some reason, she didn't move her hand a inch because there was an unspoken agreement where they can hold each other's hand's sometimes. Robin didn't know how it happened but she enjoys the touch.

"Nance?" Robin gets ready to ask the worst question while whispering. Nancy looks at Robin.
"Do you.." She starts and glances at Steve and glances back at Nancy. Nancy makes a confused expression for a moment, then makes a realization face. She quickly shakes her head.
Robin raises her eyebrows to make sure.

"No no, I promise you," Nancy whispers. Robin was a little relived but still had her doubts.

When Robin arrives home, she goes up to her room and sits next to the phone. Nancy said she would call Robin right away as she got home. That's all Robin needed to worry about right now.

After moments of waiting, she finally heard the dinging. She snatches the phone.

"Nancy?"
"Heyy Robin!"
"Nancy! I missed y- i mean, nevermind."

Robin tries to hide her embarrassment and Nancy just gives a cute laugh on her end of the phone. Robin lets herself fall to the bed with the phone to her ear and just enjoy's the moment.

"By the way, why'd you ask if I liked Steve still," Nancy asks.
"Oh um I don't know, just the way you looked at him I guess. Your eyes were practically beaming heart's!"

Nancy scoffs and says, "No they were not."
"Yes."
"No! Well, can I be honest to you Robin?" Nancy starts.

Robin swallows. She knows what's coming. She wasn't even ready to sob into her pillow for a month after she says it. She was afraid. What if Steve replaces her in her and Nancy's friendship? It worried her a lot.

Then, she hears the words, "I'm just confused on who I like and all, that's why," come out of Nancy's mouth. Robin sits there.

"Robin?"
"Helloooo? Robin?"
Nancy's voice echos in the back of her head. She was too deep in thought.
"I have to go."

"Wait what," Robin shakes her head and sits up.
"I'm joking Rob, just wanted to get your attention. Anyways no I don't like Steve I'm just really confused about stuff. Hope that answers your question."

Robin kicks her legs and says, "Yep! Yeah it does don't worry haha anyways I've got to go I have some, business to do. Plus it is late. Bye Nance love you!"
Robin quickly places the phone on the wall. Shit.

Had she just said she loves Nancy? Panic spreaded her entire body along with embarassment. Now she wouldn't be able to get out of the house for days because she didn't want to face Nancy after that. But she wasn't going to ignore her, probably just be really awkward.
