All These Little Things

I'm sitting in my house when the front door opens and Scott barges in. "I really am so glad I gave you that key." I joke as he plops down beside me and grabs my phone, pulling up Instagram. "What are you doing?"

"You need to see this." Scott says before pulling up Chris's profile.

"No, I really don't think I do..." I say before I stop short. Chris is sitting at the piano. He's back home from filming. He begins to play and I get lost in the way his fingers move across the keys that I almost miss him start to sing.

Your hand fits in mine like it's made just for me
But bear this mind, it was meant to be
And I'm joining up the dots, with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me

I know you've never loved
The crinkles by your eyes when you smile
You've never loved your stomach or your thighs
The dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly

I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth
But if I do, it's you
Oh, it's you, they add up to
I'm in love with you
And all these little things

You can't go to bed without a cup of tea
And maybe that's the reason that you talk in your sleep
And all those conversations are the secrets that I keep
Though it makes no sense to me

I know you never loved the sound of your voice on tape
You never want to know how much you weight
You still have to squeeze into your jeans
But you're perfect to me

I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth
But if it's true, it's you
It's you, they add up to
I'm in love with you
And all these little things

You'll never love yourself half as much as I love you
And you'll never treat yourself right darling, but I want you to
If I let you know, I'm here for you
Maybe you'll love yourself like I love you, oh

And I've just let these little things slip out of my mouth
'Cause it's you, oh, it's you
It's you, they add up to
And I'm in love with you
And all these little things

I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth
But if it's true, it's you
It's you, they add up to
I'm in love with you
And all your little things

As I watch him play and sing, something he's never done on his Instagram before, I read the caption.

Something that I've been keeping to myself for a couple of months is that I've met this amazing girl. Like most people, we started out as friends, although she did try her hardest to want nothing to do with me. Which I guess is fair because I did spill an entire cup of coffee on her when we first met. She became my best friend, and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with all the little things that make her, her. So I'm taking a moment to make this public, and let the world know that I'm officially taken. I love you Lexi, to infinity and beyond.

I'm crying by the time I'm through reading it. "Did you know he was doing this?" I ask him.

"No. But I did know that he was rightly pissed off at himself for how your conversation went." I nod before going to grab my keys.

"Can you watch Moose until I get back?"

"Where are you going?" Although the shit-eating grin on his face informs me he knows exactly where I'm going.

"Got an errand I have to run." I say before heading to the door.

"You can pick Moose up at my place tomorrow!" He calls after me.

15 minutes later I'm pulling up to the gate at Chris's house, punching in my code. By the time I'm at the front of the house, he's already outside waiting for me. "Lexi, what are you doing here? I was going to call you..."

"I love you too, you idiot." I say softly before he walks up to me, pulls me flush against him, and crashes his lips to mine.
