One Night and Forever

One Night

*You push your way through the very loud crowd.  Everyone bumping into each other. You finally find your friend Nancy right up the front*

"Finally you made it! They're about to start!" Nancy shouted over the pumping music waiting for the band to show up on stage.

"I wouldn't miss this concert for the world" you grin broadly. You've been a fan of this band ever since they dropped their first album. Given not everyone liked the band. But the management pushed for this tour so the band could get more attention.

"Corroded Coffin is amazing! Cant believe we get to see them live" Nancy gushed. If her boyfriend could see how much she loved this band he would've come but he's not that into heavy metal.

"Thank god your mum got us tickets" You say thankful. Yes you and Nancy were adults now but Karen Wheeler wanted to surprise you both knowing how much you've always wanted to go to a live concert.

*Backstage*

"Well boys this is it" the band leader, Eddie Munson, stated. He was a bit nervous given that the only crowd he's ever performed in front of were five drunks all the way back in high school.

"We finally made it" Gareth confirmed. He unlike Eddie was excited to perform in front of a crowd like this. His girlfriend waiting backstage for him. Giving him all the support he needs.

"You hear that? That's a whole crowd" Jeff said excitedly. His boyfriend talking to Gareth's girlfriend. They both had very supportive partners.

"This is going to be epic" He slapped his hand on the table. He was a bit jealous with his band mates both having someone to come backstage too. But he knew deep down this wasn't what he wanted. He thought it was. And when Barry told him about the tour he was over the moon. However he's been doing this tour for months now and it just didn't bring him the joy he wanted.

He now didn't know if people flirted with him for fun and games or if they were actually interested in him. Sometimes he'd ask what their favourite song of Corroded Coffin's was and they would just stare blankly at him proving they weren't there for the music like he was.

*Metal music blast through the speakers and everyone loves it. They're all jumping and down screaming the lyrics*

*After the concert*

*You feel your pockets and hurriedly look in your bag your body fills with dread*

"Ah shit Nancy i left my phone inside lemme go get it" You say hurriedly to your friend who was already getting in a taxi. You knew your mum would have a freak out if you didn't answer her phone call telling her you're safe at the motel with Nancy.

"I'll meet you back at the motel?" Nancy asked. She was a bit worried shout leaving you alone but quickly remembered you lived alone and have been for a while now. You've gotten pretty independent.

"yea you go on ahead i'll be there a bit late" You rush back inside explaining to security what happened. They were more than happy for you to go back in since it was cleaned out.

"Okay stay safe!" Nancy shouted out the taxi window. She had so much fun tonight especially with her best friend.

*You head back inside and start looking for your phone*

*Eddie is backstage tuning his guitar when he hears footsteps*

"Hello? Who's there?" There's usually no one left at this time so for him to hear someone walking around talking to themselves was a change in routine.
