One Night and Forever

Seriously?

It's been a few months since you agreed to help Eddie clear his name. The police have been extra quiet about the case and nothing has been leaked to the press. They still firmly believe that the killer is Eddie as they have no other leads or evidence

You and Eddie are chilling out in the living room playing board games as there isn't much else to do. You're still worried about him getting caught and you wouldn't admit it to him but he's slowly growing on you. You feel sad about even thinking about what might happen when his name gets cleared. He wouldn't just leave.....Would he?

"Okay. It's been a while. Do you want to call your uncle or not?" You take your turn of the game and sit back looking at him, trying to read his facial expression. The mention of his uncle seems to have sparked something in him and you notice him sigh

"Uhm yeah...guess I should get onto that" He rubs the back of his neck. In reality, he's been putting off calling his uncle for a number of reasons. Firstly he doesn't want to put his uncle in danger, he doesn't want to put his uncle in a position where he would have to lie to the police. He's already done that to you and he doesn't want that for his uncle. Uncle Wayne is the only family he has left. But mostly he's loved the quality time spent with you. Yeah it gets lonely when you have to go to work but now you always greet him when you come home, you cook dinner together, you joke around together and you have fun. He loves the fact that you're trying to help him. Sometimes he can hear you typing away on your laptop and he sees you writing stuff down in your notebook. He can even sometimes hear you mumble to yourself about who the possible murderer is

You hand him your phone in case Eddie's is being listened in on. You can hear his uncle on the other end of the call

"Eddie! What the hell happened!!? Where the hell have you been?!!" You can hear the worry seeping from his voice. His uncle on the other hand has been worried sick. Always turning on the news to see if there had been any updates. He's greeted by no updates. Nothing. His nephew has been on the run for months and no one can find him. Wayne could only hope Eddie is okay

"Uncle I want to explain. Uhm I'll give you an address and we can have a proper talk" He looks at you making sure it's okay to give your address to his uncle. You give him a slight nod and offer him a soft smile. You see his body relax and he gives you a smile back.

Once Eddie hangs up he sees another name pop up on the screen *Will* Eddie hands you the phone so you can answer. He wonders who Will is and why he's calling you. He hates the radiant smile that pops up on your face when you see the name. He feels his heart constrict and he feels hurt

"I'm sorry little brother you know I'm not having any visitors right now... Yes, I'm aware it's been months... I love you too" You hang up on him and notice Eddie watching you. You don't mind it. You feel bad about not having Will come over as much anymore but it's for Eddie's safety. You feel the need to protect the curly hair metal head. You don't know why but whenever you're around him you feel safe

You both walk to the kitchen to stretch your legs from sitting down too long. Eddie keeps walking until he's in front of you. You didn't realize how close he was until you looked up and could feel his body heat radiate to you. However, you don't move. You plant your feet and look into Eddie's eyes. He has kind eyes you've decided

"Is the little brother getting worried?" He looks at you in a way that spreads warmth over your body. He shouldn't care about your family and yet he's asking about your little brother. You know he must feel guilty for keeping your house to himself but you don't care. You knew what it would entail when you offered him the spare room. He's happy that 'Will' is your brother and not a guy you might be interested in. He's thankful Billy didn't work out. And he's even more grateful when he knows Peter has no chance with you. You've been very vocal about that
