One night when Eddie had the odd night off he was just relaxing in his New York apartment. He got a phone call from Wayne, so he answers
"Eddie, I drove past their house and this guy was standing outside their door. He was tallish, with blonde hair, and he looked really interested in Y/N........." Wayne started to speak he was about to say how uncomfortable you looked the whole time. He was going to check on you but decided it was best to leave you alone.
Everything else Wayne was saying went all muffled and he started to hear ringing in his ears. He hung up on his uncle and left his phone on the kitchen table. He picks up the first thing he sees which is a glass cup and he throws it against the wall. It shatters with a loud contact. In a fit of rage, he makes his way to his bedroom and starts throwing everything everywhere. He picks up his lamp and throws it against the wall. He then makes his way into the bathroom trying to calm down. He looks at himself in the mirror and sees somebody who means nothing. Somebody who isn't worth loving. Maybe they were right in high school. Maybe he was just a freak. Angry with himself he punches the mirror and smashes it. He looks at his hand and it's all bloody. He knows there's going to be a few shards of glass and mirror in his hand as well. Once he realizes what he did and how he's acting there is only one person who could ease his mind. He slowly makes his way back to the kitchen trying to avoid the broken glass. He picks up his phone and slides down the wall. The glass surrounded him. For the first time in months, he doesn't chicken out and he presses call. He hopes you answer. He couldn't stand being sent to voicemail
"Hmmm Eddie.......?" you were half asleep but when you saw his name flash across your screen you immediately wanted to answer. What caused him to call you?
"Did I wake you up?" his heart nearly stops beating just hearing your voice. How he's missed your voice
"No no, you didn't I'm just tired. I haven't been sleeping very well the last few months. what's happening?" It's true. You don't know why but ever since Eddie left you haven't been able to sleep. And having Peter drop by without an invitation scares you
"I haven't been sleeping well either.....my uhh my uncle told me that Peter was around yours today" He hopes you won't get angry with Wayne for telling him
"Yeah he was....he does it every week or so....... I've spoken to Hopper about it but unfortunately, because I don't have evidence they can't really do anything *yawns* so I just have to turn him away every time" You try to explain it. You don't want Eddie thinking that after everything you'd just go with Peter
He feels slight relief. until he looks at his hand and sees all the blood oozing out of his hand. Just hearing your voice and seeing what he's done and what he thinks of himself he just starts to cry. Everything he felt poured out of him. How much he hurt you. How he just left without a word. He couldn't imagine what you were thinking when he just bolted as soon as his name was cleared. He felt selfish. How could he do that to you? He wished he'd opened that door and just taken you in his arms never letting go. He regrets not opening that door. He wishes he went back for you. His mind wanders thinking if you would ever give him a second chance
Hearing him cry and break down over the phone makes you more alert. You suddenly don't feel tired anymore and you feel like you need to reassure him. Himcrying was quite possibly the worst sound you've ever heard. You wanted to make him smile, laugh anything happy. Your heart hurts at the sound of his voice breaking and being all wobbly
"Eddie? Hey hey, Eddie, everything is going to be okay" You start softly. You hope you can calm him down
he sniffles a lot
"Eddie.... listen to me..... you're going to be okay. What's happened?" You're a bit firmer now hoping to get something out of him
"Nothing... it's fine.....I'm sorry for disturbing you" He wipes his nose with his sleeve and calms down his breathing. He knows you probably don't want to hear from him after what he did
