Please Don't Be In Love With Someone Else

You and Eddie were hanging out in the kitchen with the tv on mute. Hopper had texted you last night but you didn't see the message until this morning. You were too busy lying with Eddie. You were happy his name was finally getting cleared. He needed this. His uncle needed his nephew back. And it was Christmas Eve. It was a Christmas Eve miracle. You couldn't wait for Eddie to hear for himself. Eddie was talking about his life in New York. It sounded so glamorous but you couldn't help but hear a twinge of loneliness in his voice. But how could The Eddie Munson be that lonely? He'd surely have a lineup of women he could just pick and choose from

"Last night was uh really nice," He said hesitantly. He didn't know how you felt waking up in his arms. However, he knows he's never had a sleep like that ever. It's been the most peaceful sleep he's had in a while. He also knows that a part of you liked it last night. The way you melted into his arms. The way you fit perfectly with him. Like you were made for each other. Made him think of your very first night together and well your two bodies just melded together perfectly like a missing puzzle piece

"It was. Also, I have a surprise for you" You give a soft smile and nod your head in agreement

"You do?" He looks at you confused

You point to the tv behind him making him look. It has Hopper front and center. The headlines read 'Munson Murders'. His heart sinks. However, you said it was a surprise. You wouldn't be that cruel to make him watch his name get tarnished even more than it already was

"Hi everyone I'm chief Hopper as you all know, My announcement this morning is important as it has to do with the supposed Munson Murders. Upon looking into the families and speaking with them personally and a few other things me and my buddies at the police station have decided that Eddie Munson had nothing to do with these murders. He was just unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time. All charges against Eddie Munson have been dropped" He speaks formally and matter-of-factly. He's glad that the boy's name has been cleared

You shut off the tv and look at Eddie. His face was full of disbelief

"Omg, you did it" His voice comes out soft and quiet. It's unbelievable. He's a free man

"We did it," You say smiling

"Y/N! You did it!! I'm free" He speaks louder now. He's much more confident 

He starts to tear up so you get up and embrace him while his tears flow free. His arms automatically wrap around your waist. You rub his back as his grip on you tightens. His face is buried in your chest. He doesn't want to let you go

"And just in time for Christmas. It's Christmas Eve Eddie" You softly stroke his hair 

"This is the best surprise I have ever received!" He says happily. It honestly was the best surprise anyone has ever given him. His freedom. He lets you go and you sit down next to him

"I need to call my uncle I mean he probably already knows but because of you I can spend Christmas Eve with my uncle" He can go outside without fear of getting arrested

"You can go home" You whisper

"I can go home......" He whispers back

It's suddenly very quiet and a  deathly silence and sadness fill the room. You both went very quiet at the thought of him leaving. You've gotten used to coming home with someone waiting for you. He's gotten used to you coming home to him. It's all he's ever wanted. Someone coming home to him. Being happy to see him

"It won't be the same without having you around here you know" You look at the ground as your voice comes out soft and quiet

Eddie notices you look upset and tries to make you feel better
