All the guys either got ready at Steve's house, or at Jonathan and Will's rooms in the motel 6. El, nancy, vickie and max all got ready at the wheelers. Steve, Eddie, Dustin, Mike, and robin got ready at steves. Jonathan and Will got ready at their place obviously, and they were all gonna meet up at the dance. Steve's house was filled with chaos, all three bathrooms occupied plus the living room where the only other mirror in the house was.

Robin was putting on makeup in the same bathroom as Eddie, who was doing his hair. Steve was using the bathroom connected to his room and Dustin was in the one closest to the living room. Mike was using the mirror in the living room.

The two who took longest were Eddie and Robin, since Eddie was making sure his hair was perfect. Robin was doing her makeup so obviously that took a while. Steve's hair took less time since he was simple, so he was now helping dustin.

he smiled at Dustin, kneeling and adjusting his bowtie.

“If Suzie could see you, I think she would swoon.” Steve said, as Dustin brought him into an unexpected hug.

“Thanks, dad.” He said, and Steve slowly hugged him back with tears in his eyes. Steve let out a soft chuckle.

“Of course,” he said, patting his back. They pulled away as Dustin and Mike sat down on Steve's couch. Steve checked the time.

“Cmon! We're gonna be late!” He called, turning the corner into the bathroom. He stopped in the doorway, staring at eddie with his mouth ajar. His hair was in a neat slicked back bun, and the suit fit him perfectly. Steve's lips curled to a smile as Eddie looked him up and down.

“Whoa..” He said softly. He basically had heart eyes. Eddie pulled him in and kissed him, before giggling.

“You're adorable.” He said, robin sighing.

“Let's hit the road, lovebirds!” She shouts, walking out. Which they did. Steve checked the time, they were running about 3 minutes late, but it didn't matter. Better late than not there, right?

They arrived at the school less than 5 minutes later, piling out of the car and heading inside. Considering Jonathan and Will were always a bit late, they knew that they would find him later.

Plus, it didn't bother Eddie and Steve that much, they just hung out in the corner so as to not be bothered by people for the time being. Robin and kickie went off to do their own thing, Mike awaited the others by the door.

“We should dance.” Eddie said. Steve glanced out at the room of people.

“Won't people think its weird..?” Steve asked in return. Eddie shrugged softly. “I dunno..”

“We don't have to.” Eddie states. He carefully took Steve's hand with a smile, Steve giving a small side smile.

“I want to… just not- here.” Steve said. “People here are very judgy.”

Speaking of judgy people, Jason didn't even bother showing up. Chrissy was in the corner, sipping punch with a pout on her face. Eddie noticed, telling Steve he wanted to go check on her and make sure she was ok. Eddie would consider him and Chrissy friends, they've had plenty of interactions in the last school year for them to be friends.

“Oh, chrissy..” Eddie called softly, approaching and grabbing a soda from the snack table. He cracked it open and sipped it, and she looked up at him.

“Hey..” She said quietly, sighing. She wore a floor-length tight dress, it was pink and sparkly. Not the tacky hot pink most of the girls wore, it was baby pink. It was actually rather flattering, and in Eddie's opinion she looked rather good. Her hair was down and in perfect curls, framing her face. Her makeup and heels matched, Eddie could tell the outfit was expensive.

“Was your date a no-show?” He asked softly.

“Yeah. i dunno what I expected though. He never comes to dances and stuff, I guess I got my hopes up this time or something.” she said, continuing to drink punch. “I noticed you're not dancing with anyone.”

“Well, my date isnt ah- very comfortable with dancing.” she nodded with his answer. “And y’know what, how about this? I'll give you a dance.” he said.

“You-you don't have to, eddie.” She said, smiling shyly.

“Yeah well uh, now I do.” He said, waving Steve over.

“But what about your date?” She asked, wrapping her hands around his arm.

“He won't mind.. Right?” Eddie asks, handing him the can of sprite.

“Nah, you guys have fun! Besides, I could dance with him any time I want.” Steve said with a soft smile, and she seemed surprised. Eddie pecks his lips when no one is looking.

“So Jason was right?” She asks. “About- about you two dating? Well- i mean, i'm obviously not like him.. I think it's awesome!” SHe said, smiling. “I mean, im a lesbian, and honestly i dont know why im dating that prick anymore..” She comments.

“Yeah, yeah we are.” Steve confirms.

“Well that's great! And now if you don't mind, I'm gonna steal your boyfriend for a dance.” She says.

“Alright.” And off they went. Eddie placed his hands on her hips and she wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling. He rested his head on top of hers, smiling. They slowly swayed, happily.

“See? I'm not so mean and scary after all.” Eddie jokes, and she laughs. “You mentioned the whole thing about dating Jason, what was that about?” He asked softly.

“Well.. I mean he asked me out freshman year. At the time, I was going through alot, so I guess I just accepted because I didn't have the power in me to say no.” She says, sighing softly. “And then he got super popular, joining the basketball team. I was already a cheerleader, I had been since middle school. And I dunno… I guess after he made it known to the whole school we were dating, I kinda felt trapped.”

“I'm so sorry to hear that, chris.” He comments softly.

“Oh it's alright, I'm used to it by now. I think another thing is that I'm just terrified of how he’ll react. I'm sure I could break up with him- I just don't know what would happen.” she adds, and Eddie sighs.

“That must suck. Huh?” He adds, as the song ends.

“Yeah, it really does.” They begin walking back to steve. “Anyways, thank you for that, really. I appreciate it. You didn't need to.”

“I felt it was necessary.” Eddie says, smiling and waving goodbye to her.

“Well, she seems much better now.” Steve says.

“Thank you.” Eddie says softly.

“Hm?” Steve asked, looking over at him.

“Thanks for trusting me enough to let me do that.” He said.

“Well, I just know you love me. You're a loyal person, I know that much.” Steve said, smiling.

“You're a good boyfriend, yknow that?” Steve blushed softly, as Eddie grabbed his hand carefully and kissed it.

“Th-thank you.” Eddie nods
