"A little mischievous, are we?"

_
I wake up sleepily after my nap and can't actually remember falling asleep. My dorm is pitch black, with the exception of the encased lantern on my windowsill, dimly lighting up the room.

My head turns to the clock sitting on my bedside table and I groan when I see it is almost eleven o'clock at night. I've slept for over five hours. That means dinner in the Great Hall is well and truly over and I am unable to eat until breakfast which is in another nine hours.

There are some sweets in my suitcase I had brought with me that I could eat, but that isn't exactly the healthiest option. I could go down to the kitchens and take some leftovers. However, it is against school rules for students to be out of bed past curfew. I remember that Harry, Ron and Hermione were caught in first year and got fifty house points deducted each.

It was too risky and most of my house already doesn't like me regardless. The looks and verbal abuse they would dish out to me if I got fifty points deducted from Slytherin.

On the contrary, my stomach had different ideas and spoke for me. I know I will need to eat something in the next hour before I starve.

Reluctantly, I climb out of bed and take a short visit to the bathroom. I brush my disheveled hair before deciding to braid it into a single plait to tame the mess that is my hair. Also, brushing my teeth and removing my makeup I didn't take off before my nap. I don't change out of my comfy clothes. No one will see me anyways.

Cautiously, I peek my head out of the dormitories to see if there where any people in the common room. No one was in sight, therefore I took the opportunity to slip through the common room unnoticed and walk out.

The Slytherin common room wasn't too far from the kitchens. Us being in the dungeons and the kitchens being on the ground floor, made things a lot easier. Unlike if I was in Gryffindor and had to climb all the way down from their tower.

The light of a lantern made me jump back against a wall and watch as the person disappeared around a corner. Thankfully, not travelling in the same direction as me.

I climb up the small staircase leading to the kitchens. The large door creaking as I arrive at my destination.

"Miss, shouldn't be here." I soft voice spoke from the darkness.

"Who's there?" I hesitantly whispered.

"Winky, Miss. What are you doing here?" She approached, finally coming into view. The small female elf's eyes where the size of tennis balls. She wore a tiny brown apron and slippers and only reached to just above my knees.

"I'm sorry to intrude. I fell asleep before I got the chance to eat something at dinner and was wondering if you had any leftovers I could have." I admitted whilst fiddling with my hands anxiously. Maybe she would tell on me?

"Of course, Miss. What can, Winky, get you?" She smiled widely.

"Perhaps a chicken breast and some vegetables?" I asked politely and take a seat at the large wooden table centred in the kitchen. I assume it is usually where the elves eat after working hard in the kitchens to prepare food for all of us.

In a matter of minutes, Winky had so very kindly served me everything I requested. I asked if she would care to join me and she seemed thrilled at my offer.
