"I think you mean positions, darling."

"You won't believe what just happened to me in Potions!" I exclaimed furiously to Hermione once she had stepped out of her Ancient Runes class.

She gasped, clearly surprised to see me there but I had to talk to her. I grasped her hand and dragged her down the busy staircase to a quieter corridor.

"Y/n, what's going on?" She protested in a slight annoyed tone probably because she needed to get to her next class.

"Just when I thought Snape couldn't possibly despise me anymore, he paired Malfoy and I to work together on a stupid Potions project." I rant frantically pacing back and forth. "I mean, does he intentionally want to make my life a living hell?"

"Please try to calm down. I know it's difficult but there is nothing you can do about it now." Hermione tries to reason with me. Her soft voice makes my tensed body lighten a little.

I take a deep breath before speaking again. "I know but it's just so frustrating. This really will be my last straw. I don't want to see Malfoy anymore than I absolutely have to; let alone work alongside him in my spare time."

"Come on now, y/n. You're breaking my heart over here." A snarky sneer jeers from behind me. I witness Hermione's eyes widen as she stared upwards behind me. Please, not now.

Hesitantly, I slowly gaze up over my shoulder to peer up at him smirking widely. "Your words have truly hurt me this time." The sarcastic blonde continues in his mocking tone making me feel so small.

My heart pounds rapidly against my ribcage. I feel stiff and vulnerable under his burning gaze which penetrates through my soul sharply.

"Y/n, I really should get going to my Herbology class. I will see you tomorrow." Hermione broke the tensed silence.

"Yes, leave now." Draco bluntly dismisses her.

"Shut up!" I snap at him before looking back at her with pleading eyes. "You're not going anywhere without me."

My hand is snatched and I am forcefully turned around to face him. His fringe dangles in front of his piercing eyes making him looking dangerously handsome. My heart skips a beat when taking all of this in.

His other hand lands on my hip and with a tight squeeze he quickly backs me against the large window. I feel his warm breath on my forehead as the small distance between us heightened the tension.

"Move along now, Granger." Draco snapped at her while never taking his eyes off mine. Hurriedly, she grasped the handle of her satchel and left, leaving only the two of us once again alone in a corridor.

"Move Malfoy, I don't have the time." I broke eye contact and tried to escape his grip. He calmly stood still holding me in place with what perceived to be very little effort.

"Look at me." He asked in a deep monotone.

But I couldn't. I knew if I did my body would fail me again. "I really need to get to class so let go!" I continued struggling and insisted I needed to get going. Which I did but I'm pathetic and somehow missed the closeness with him.

"Look at me." He whispered directly into my ear making goosebumps rise on my skin.

I gave in and looked up slowly to make our eyes meet in an enchanting gaze. It felt like all our problems disappeared and all there was in the world was each other. He made me forget about everything. Why did we hate each other again? Did we even hate each other anymore?

"God certainly has favourites." He mumbled, loud enough for me to hear. My heart yearned at the only compliment I have ever received of him. His hand gripping mine moved to trace his thumb over my lips.
