Rachel's P.O.V.
By the time I awoke the sun had already risen and was shining through the white curtains of the bedroom window. I groaned and rolled over onto my side expecting to feel Tate there beside me but he was gone, the bed was empty apart from a piece of folded paper left on his side of the bed.
With a grunt I managed to push myself up onto my elbows, a dull aching pain still radiating from my newly claimed wound. Reaching for the note I unfolded it and was met with Tate's messy handwriting 'At training, be back soon. Appointment scheduled with Zander, don't be late. I love you' the time on the note read '9:45' and glancing at the clock on the nightstand I was met with red numbers reading '8:37'.
Forcing myself into a sitting position, I ran a hand through my messy dirty blonde hair and glanced around the room. My wedding dress was neatly hung on the walk in closet door handle and everything else seemed in order after the night before. Memories flooded my mind and I caught myself smiling at the thought. I'd given Tate everything, my virginity, my soul and wolf and hopefully if the marking went right then he held his claim over me as well.
Getting up out of bed, I tossed the note onto the coffee table in the living room area and made my way to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I turned the shower on and waited for the water to heat up as I glanced at myself in the mirror. The wound on my neck was blue, like a swollen bruise with four puncture wounds from where his canines embedded themselves into my skin but the imprint of his other teeth were also showing in two crescent shapes facing towards each other. As soon as the wound was healed it would leave behind a series of scars matching his upper and lower jaws alone.
I tentatively touched the wound and flinched when a shocking pain jolted throughout my body. Gazing down at my hand, I stepped into the shower to get started on the day. Afterwards I dressed in a pair of simple jean shorts and one of Tate's oversized grey T-shirts, throwing my wet hair up into a messy bun.
I headed downstairs and directly for the medical wing, figuring that everyone was still at practice or asleep. When I entered, Zander was going over some papers seated behind his desk and jumped when he noticed me.
"Luna" he greeted, bowing his head in submission to show his respect. Waving him off I gave a faint smile "I hear my husband scheduled an appointment, I'm guessing you already know what for" Zander nodded and rolled his chair out from behind the desk so he could stand up and lead me into the examining room, grabbing his clipboard on the way.
"I've never heard of a female surviving a second claim" he said as he motioned for me to take a seat on the bed and went through some things on his clipboard.
"It is possible though when the one that claimed them died resulting in the claim fading but it isn't exactly possible with rejection" I sighed and glanced out the small window behind the bed at the back yard where the forest was starting to turn brown, yellow, orange and red from the fast approaching fall.
"In other words, I'm supposed to be dead" I plainly stated and Zander nodded, retrieving a pen from the pocket of his white lab coat and jotting something down on his clip board.
"Supposed to and could most likely still die" he agreed nodding his head to affirm my words.
