Chapter Thirty One.

Rachel's P.O.V.

I woke up early the next morning and got dressed in a pair of navy blue sweatpants and a black sports bra with matching trainers. My hair was up in a lose bun as I made my way to the medical wing after dropping Holden off with Rebecca. Zander was in the front office going over some paper work that needed to be sorted.

"I expected you'd come" he mumbled not once taking his eyes off the paper he held in his hands and was scanning over. Only when I took a stand in front of his desk with my arms crossed over my chest did he look up.

"Dalton's prepped and ready to go when you are, Luna" he informed, dropping his

papers when he noticed what I was wearing and scanned over my outfit.

"Any plans for today?" he asked reaching over to scoop his clipboard up and flip over a few pages, looking for my report. When he found it he frowned "I believe I told you that you have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, there'll be no taking part in any activities until then" I rolled my eyes at his stern, almost fatherly tone and dropped both my arms back to my sides.

"I am aware of that Zander, but that doesn't mean that I can't observe the training everyone else will be undergoing" Zander shot me a look that said he didn't believe me and pushed his chair out from behind his desk to stand up, flipping back to the front of his clipboard as he grabbed a pen from the 'worlds #1 dad' holder that stood on the edge of his desk.

"You expect me to believe that, when have you ever just observed anything?" he asked with a scoff as he began making his way down the hall towards Dalton's room. I followed, wanting to be there to attempt tapping into Dalton's mind again.

"True" was all I could say as we continued to walk. The room across from us on the far end of the hallway was where the medical supplies were being kept, the one across from Dalton's room was where the scans and X-rays were to be taken.

"He's not too happy about all this, you know" Zander randomly said as he stopped in front of Dalton's door and pushed his glasses higher up onto the bridge of his nose.

"I know, I wish there was another way to do this but there isn't" I replied to which Zander nodded and reached for the handle to the door, pushing it open. Nicole and Aiden were

gathered around Dalton's bed, aware of what was going on.

"Alpha Dalton, Rachel has arrived, I assume you're ready?" Zander announced, giving Dalton time to say his short goodbye to his family and that he would see them in half an hour or so. Nicole gave him a peck on the lips then scooped Aiden up from the ground.

"I'll see you soon" she said brushing Dalton's hair back out of his face. He was lying down on top of the bed ready to be moved to the scanning room.

"Bye, bye daddy" Aiden greeted allowing Nicole to carrying him out the room. She shot

me a loving, sincere smile when she passed me by then was gone.

"I suppose you understand the terms and conditions to-." Dalton cut Zander off with an

annoyed look, shooting a glance in my direction "Let's just get this over with" he bit out, turning his head to face the window. The sun had just risen and the forest was still damp from the morning doe.
