Finally the big battle against Reign and the Raptors!

*(^-^)*

Rachel's P.O.V.

It was approaching midday by the time the border line was crossed. It hadn't stopped raining since early morning and the sky was a dark, dreary grey as Tate and I both awaited word from Brice who was impatiently waiting on the third boundary line. I was given the task of guarding the pack house and was stood waiting with Dalton's necklace dangling around my neck and Rebecca's daggers gripped in hand.

Tate and Hayden were each stood at my flank with my brothers positioned behind us, no one said a word as we stood waiting for the Raptors to reach the boundary line where Brice and the rest of our heavy duty fighters were stationed. There was a tension drifting between us, dense and thick as we eagerly waited on Brice to signal us so Tate could give the word. Just when I thought that the time would never come, Brice's voice echoed throughout the mind link.

'Raptors in sight Alpha'. Glancing at Tate out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed how he tensed, suddenly on full alert and aware of his surroundings.

'You may advance' Tate replied and like a tidal wave of emotions, the sounds of battle rang in my ears along with battle cries when the guards attacked. Looking back at Alec from over my shoulder, I silently nodded my head, signalling to them that the battle has begun since neither he nor Reese or Luke were connected to the pack through the mind link. All three of them seemed to stiffen in a similar way to Tate, ready and poised to fight as soon as it was necessary.

The sound of battle only seemed to get closer as more pack members began to tense and I tightened my grip on the daggers Rebecca had given me, ready until a sharp pain shot throughout my torso. My hand darted up to cup my stomach but there was nothing, no wound, no blood, nothing but perfectly healed skin.

"What the-?" I tried to ask when Hayden toppled over beside me, hunched down on one knee as he too gripped at his stomach.

"What is that?" he managed to ask through his groans and grunts. Looking to Tate, I found him and my brothers the only ones not to be in pain.

"Tate?" I asked but he refused to look at me. Instead he kept his eyes on the tree line with his jaw clenched and fists balled.

"Brice is injured, cut the link you have with him" he instructed, the link we had with Brice had sent his pain through to us so that we felt everything he did with the use of the mind connection all pack members shared.

"If he's injured then-." I tried to protest as I attempted to contact Brice again but he wasn't answering and I knew something was wrong. Tate shook his head.

"We can't afford to stray from our positions now, we stay where we are" he concluded, his eyes roaming over the crowd behind us before meeting with my crystal clear blue ones.

"Cut the link, Rachel" he repeated in a stern voice that I instantly identified as his Alpha tone. He was using it on me, he had never used that tone on me before.

"Yes, Alpha" I muttered, severing the link between Brice and myself. The pain instantly disappeared and I was able to stand back upright but no sooner did the forest go quiet, the sound of battle was silenced.

"Alpha-." one of the pack members breathed but was cut off when Tate raised his hand to stop him from speaking.

"They're here" he announced, nodding at me and my brothers with a stern expression plastered across his features. Alec and I shared a look as snarls began to fill the air around us and wolves bigger than most stepped out into the open. Some were covered in blood while others had a desperate longing for bloodshed glistening in their eyes, just itching for a fight.
