Rachel's P.O.V.

The next morning I made my way downstairs to the kitchen where Bridget and Vicky were bickering with each other while Rose stood off to the side looking on with wide eyes.

“You know what? I give up” Vicky said throwing her hands up in the air and turning to dump her empty bowl into the sink.

“Am I missing something?” I asked heading over to the fridge in search of some orange juice. Travis was perched up on the counter munching on his cereal and snickering at the arguing girls.

“Bridget wants to go dress shopping” Vicky muttered, more like grouched, turning to lean back against the counter with her arms crossed over her chest “And you know how much I hate shopping”

It was true Vicky hated nothing more in the world than shopping especially with Bridget who was as picky as they come.

“But Rachel still needs a dress for the party tomorrow and she has to look perfect for-.” Bridget was saying but Vicky cut her off with a look.

“For Tristan?” she asked and I froze in the middle of pouring myself some juice. Rose flinched for some reason but it was barely noticeable.

“News flash Bridget it’s all an act, Rachel’s leaving us after the engagement to be with Hayden remember?” Vicky pointed out getting Rose to relax. Setting the juice carton down I turned to look at both Vicky and Bridget.

“She’s leaving-.” Bridget muttered lowly then cleared her throat looking at Vicky with sad eyes.

“But I’m still going to make it seem perfect even if it’s all fake” Vicky gave Bridget’s puppy dog face one look then nodded giving a long sigh in defeat and shot a playful glare at the mother to be.

“Okay fine we’ll go dress shopping” Bridget grinned hopping up and down in place while clapping her hands together in excitement “Yay! You’re the best V!”

Vicky grumbled, pushing off the counter to start towards the kitchen door. She paused in the doorway then glanced back at all of us .

“Damn right I am” then she disappeared out the door only waiting long enough to call back “I’m going to get dressed!”

I breathed a laugh and shook my head as I took a swing of my orange juice. Bridget was grinning widely like she’d won the lottery.

“Shopping spree!” she chimed then rushed out the kitchen probably to go get ready for the mall. Travis crunched down on a mouthful of cereal then looked at me.

“Is it always like that?” he asked blinking at me. Finishing off my juice, I set the empty glass in the sink.

“Wait until they have to pick out a movie to rent, talk about the Note Book versus Godzilla” I muttered thinking of that time it took us an entire hour just so that Bridget could flash her puppy dog look and end up winning the 56 minute dispute with the Note Book.

“I swear if I have to see the Note Book one more time I’m going to shoot myself” I uttered more to myself than anyone else but Travis heard and cleared his throat hopping down from the counter.

“Who wouldn’t?” he asked popping his empty bowl into the sink then stretched out his sore muscles “Well I guess it’s time to head out, I’ve got training with my brother so I’ll see you whenever”

I nodded while setting the juice carton back into the fridge “See you then” I mumbled as Travis left heading out the kitchen door to the backyard and into the forest towards the clearing.
