Rachel’s P.O.V.

I groaned and rolled over into someone’s hard chest, causing a pair of strong arms to tighten themselves around my waist. The scent of pine and morning doe filled my senses as I unconsciously snuggled further into their body. I heard a low grumble and looked up to meet with Tate’s drowsy face, squeezing his eyes shut before peering down at me.

“Morning, beautiful” he said huskily as he buried his face into my hair, breathing in deeply. Nuzzling my nose into his cheek, I turned my head to meet his eyes.

“Morning” I breathed leaning up to peck his lips softly. Tate trailed his own nose along my cheek bone, making his way towards my ear.

“You have such a cute snore” he teased grinning against my ear and causing me to shiver as his lips brushed against my skin.

“I don’t snore” I protested, causing Tate to chuckle lowly, his warm breath skimping over my skin and sending a series of chills down my spine.

“Yeah, you do” he said, rolling us over so that he was hovering over me, staring down into my crystal clear eyes with his rust coloured ones.

“No, I don’t” I countered unable to help the smile that spread across my lips when I looked up at him.

“You’re not going to win this one princess, so you might as well just give up while you still can” he declared smirking. I was about to protest when he pecked my lips, silencing me “Don’t even try” he said once he pulled away and got up off the bed, stretching out his sore muscles and flexing.

“Like what you see, princess?” he cockily asked when he noticed me staring at him. Turning my head away in embarrassment, I looked out the bedroom window covered in white curtains at the endless forest beyond.

“Not really” I lied turning so that I was lying on my side with the bed sheets only reaching up to my calves. My bare thighs on display along with my lacy red panties from where Tate’s grey shirt had rode up.

“You’re lying” Tate stated smirking down at me from the foot of the bed as I hid my face into my pillow, trying to hide my playful smile.

“No, I’m not” I mumbled into my pillow, my voice sounding muffled. Tate chuckled, a low rumbling sound that shook me to the core.

“Are we really going down this road again?” he asked bending down to pick up a red and black duffle bag and tossed it onto the bed by my feet. I turned my head to smile brightly up at him.

“Maybe…what’s the bag for?” I questioned out of curiosity, titling my head slightly and causing my dirty blond curls to splay out around me.

“Reese wants you to go meet Braxton, plus Rebecca refuses to let you sleep alone after-.” he trailed off shrugging his shoulders as he dug through the bag for something decent to wear “When am I leaving?” I asked referring to the meeting with Braxton. Tate looked up from the blue material in his hands.

“You mean when are we leaving?” he corrected putting emphasis on the word ‘we’. I pushed myself up into a sitting position, causing Tate’s shirt to slide down one shoulder since it was bigger than Hayden’s and I was practically drowning in it.

“You’re coming too?” I asked leaning my weight back on my arms to support myself. Tate threw the shirt he had in his hands down on the bed.

“I’m not letting you out of my sights, not after what happened with-.” he paused choosing to steer clear of the topic before he sighed and ran a hand through his messy black hair “You’re vulnerable now Rachel, emotionally wrecked and I don’t want anything happening to you or Holden” he refused to meet my eyes so crawling across the bed towards him, I sat on my knees, reaching out to tenderly cup his face in both my hands, forcing him to look at me.
