Salomé listened to Clara ramble on in French and sometimes in English about her fellow dancers messing up a routine and...well Salomé forgot the rest since she was busy thinking about that letter in Tommy's office.
Salomé had came to know the old barmaid, who's name was Grace, also worked as Tommy's secretary.
That was information she had now known but that didn't matter to her, what mattered to her was that this woman was very close to Tommy.

"𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰'𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆."

Tommy had loved this woman who worked for him but this woman was also somehow his enemy. That had left Salomé confused and irritated.

Confused because she wondered why no one had ever spoken about her

Confused because she wondered why no one had ever spoken about her. Grace must've been significant if the woman worked as a barmaid, his secretary, and ended up as his enemy. In return ended up irritating her the more she tried to put the pieces together.
Then the tip of the problem was that Tommy didn't tell her anything about another woman being in the picture, maybe Salomé was jumping to conclusions but they both agreed to be there for one another and not keep anything from each other. None of that had happened, Salomé was left in the dark about it and she would never do that Tommy. When Salomé made a promise to a person she cared for then she was gonna make sure that promise was never broken.

"Avez-vous entendu ce que je viens de dire?(Did you hear what I just said)" Salomé snaps back into reality from her cousin.
"No..sorry." Salomé sighed, sipping her drink. "What were you saying Clara?"
"Oublie, what's wrong with you?" Clara looked at her cousin quizzically.
Salomé shook her head looking over at her band, they were singing a small tune.
"Oh nothing, just the events from the other day still on my mind." Salomé lied giving her cousin a faint smile.
"Don't worry you'll get use to everything that happens in Small Heath." Clara shrugged nonchalantly.
"Yea I just need to take my mind off of everything." Salomé eyes wandered around the Garrison stopping to see Joannes walk up to them.
"Come watch me dance tonight then." Salomé looked at Clara, surprised that she was just offering that so quickly.
"What are you ladies chatting about?" Joannes gave the two his signature smirk, hands in his pockets.
"I've been invited to watch Clara dance tonight?" Salomé lightly said earning a surprise nod from Joannes.
"Oh really, then are you going to go?" Joannes leaned against the bar besides Salomé.
"She is never going to go, not her scene." Clara brushed off her cousin ever coming to see her dance.
"Not true, I am going." Salomé gave a proud smile. "I need something to get away from here, too much has happened in a short time for my liking." Salomé believed going to see Clara dance tonight would help take her mind off of yesterday, that letter, and Tommy. A much needed break her mind needed from the whirlwind of events.
