Salomé watches her father and uncle run out of the snug. A wave of dizziness hits her with full force, she puts all of her weight on the bar counter.
Louis and Joannes looks at Salomé, worried about her reaction.
"Salomé do not worry, I'm sure that Uncle Alphonse just needs to..ah..simmer down, he'll be right back in here." Louis says trying to make Salomé feel better.
"But what if he don't." Salomé placed her head down in her hands.
"If he doesn't then the only way for him to accept you with Tommy is if you move out." Joannes says before taking a hit of cigarette and a swig of his beer.
"Leave the house, I don't think I could go through with that." Salomé thought her cousin was crazy for even thinking about that.
Joannes laughs at Salomé and she looks at as if he had gone insane.
"Oh mon Dieu, how are you going to marry the man if you can't even leave, as they say, maison maternelle. Salomé being with a man for your life means leaving your house to stay in his house." Salomé knew her cousin Joannes was right, what she most wanted was to be with Tommy until the day she died.
"Salomé have you ever even thought about marriage with Tommy?" Louis asked looking at his stressed cousin.
"Yes, yes I have but whenever I do I end up thinking 'bout papa and how he don't accept Tommy. How can I think 'bout marriage when I've been forbidden from seeing Tommy?" Joannes slides his beer over to Salomé.
"You need this more than me." Salomé chuckles, the beer was tempting but she needed a sober mind during these trying times.
"I need to go speak too him." Salomé runs out of the Garrison looking for her father. Luckily, he was only standing at the side of the Pub. His brother Pierre, trying to talk sense into him.
"Uncle Pierre, can we talk for a moment please?"
"Of course, tell Tommy we'll be right in soon." Pierre gave Salomé a reassuring pat on the shoulder before going back inside the pub.

"I don't like the way you are comfortable with him Salomé." Alphonse was first to speak.
"But papa, I love Tommy, why wouldn't I be comfortable with him."
"He isn't any good for you, I know when I see bad and that man is the walking embodiment of it."
"Oh papa you are wrong." Salomé shook her head chuckling. "I know a bad man, Tommy is far from it. The men going back home to their families after they hung a innocent man up on a tree, now those are some bad men now." Alphonse looked down at his dirt covered shoes when his daughter brought up the death of his son.
"Tommy is a good man just like you papa." Salomé takes ahold of her father's hands. "He love me, takes care of me, and respects me. Tommy is everything you told me a man should be towards me." Alphonse takes his hands back, making Salomé sadden.
"Why Salomé, I told you to stay away from the Shelby's and you do the exact opposite." Salomé sighs hearing her father's words.
"Papa, si je peux, mama once told me how she knew you were the man for her no matter what the world would bring to her. She said you were her million dollar man, and if you got a million dollars then you shouldn't let it go." Salomé's eyes twinkled as she spoke about her mother, it made Alphonse's demeanor soften a little. "Long story short, Tommy is my million dollar man. No matter what you or anyone else thinks or say, I ain't letting that million dollar man go." Alphonse listened to his only daughter, taking in ever word as he angrily smoked a cigarette.
"Please make the right decision papa, I love you." Salomé hugged her father before walking back into the Garrison.
