There she was, standing in front of the small kitchen table, the exact same spot Salomé once stood when Tommy first stepped foot into her house.
The kitchen was small but warm, light spilling from a single overhead pendant that cast a soft amber glow across the counters. Something simmered faintly on the back burner, but the stove was off now-just leftover heat and the smell of dinner lingering in the air.
The black shawl Salomé once was wrapped around her arms now hanging from a pulled out chair. Tommy watched in silence, Salomé didn't spare him a single stare as she took the stack of plates from the counter and moved them into the sink, curls flouncing over her shoulder and lips pursed on a mission to make the kitchen tidy enough for her aunt.

Putting the remainder of the dirty dishes in the sink, Salomé cleaned off her hands on a nearby apron. "You hungry, I saved a little extra from dessert." The remainder of Salomé's special angel food cake sat in the oven, hiding from sticky fingers.

"I didn't come here for food, I'm quite full." Truthfully, the grand dinner that was prepared had filled Tommy enough so much so he could go another day without eating.
"Came to watch me clean, make sure I'm doing everything right." It was the dry humor that made Tommy laugh, a bolt of happiness would strike his body everytime.
"Yer' more better in that field than me." Salomé gave an agreeing nod too Tommy.
"Then what brings you 'round my way then, started missing me didn't ya." Salomé poked at Tommy in a teasing manner, knowing the stone cold man in front of her would turn bashful.
