I am in deep thought after my visit to a lawyer in Richmond. He explained to me every single detail about the pros and cons in my cooperation with the state. I think, I need to discuss this with Alice when she will return. Now I want to think ways so we can help little Rose, Steven's sister.

The pottery contest is in progress so Mr. Paul Wilson, the potter is making some pieces for it. The contest is taking place in Richmond in ten days. Every contestant can join in with three different pieces. Mr. Wilson agreed to give one third of his reward, if he won. It is not much, but it is a start together with the earnings of the shop.

-"Why do you hesitate to cooperate with the estate?" Daniel asks when I tell him my worries.

Our meetings are a routine now and our relationship is harmonious. Well, I don't know yet what kind of relationship this is but I like it. He seems more mature and calm. We can talk about everything.

-"Well, I don't know if the locals will like it. I think the government agencies install a feeling of scare in people. I'm afraid that if I cooperate with the state, I will lose the trust of local people."

His silence tells me that I am right. Now New Leaf is just a charitable organization which helps and supports financially the area and the people. If I suddenly tell them that I represent the state, they will not approach easily. In the end the financial support from the state is not much either. It will only be a stable income.

-"I know that the area is rural but why don't you visit some factory or mine owners? They will welcome you if they can get rid of taxes?"

-"That is a good idea." I shout and he smiles.

-"I know that I am smart."

-"You are really arrogant."

-"Of course. This is my charm."

He approaches me and my heart beats increase. His face is some centimeters away from mine. I can smell his aroma and I can feel his breath. Sometimes, he tries to penetrate my defenses with these sudden movements. He tries to get me accustomed with his presence as if he knows that I need time to heal my wounds.

His hands are touching mine and with a slow motion go up to my arms. His gaze is always on me as if he tries to learn the truth from my eyes.

-"Are you charmed?" He asks.

-"No."

-"Are you sure?" I shallow my saliva.

He is a very charming man. I can admit that. He is handsome and strong with confidence. He is not as bad as he wants to show to everybody else. He is also patient, otherwise he wouldn't be with me right now. Every woman would want him in her side. I don't know why I am still hesitant for. Maybe, I am afraid to get hurt again. It is like instinct. If I get hurt again, maybe it will be the end for me. I need to fully trust him before I can give in this relationship.

-"You need to try more." I joke and he smiles.

-"If I try more, then I will be perfect." He says and I laugh aloud.

After this entertaining morning my day starts with me in a good mood. Today I have a meeting with the other members of the organization so I can tell them my worries. They can advice me. They are locals too and they know the way of thinking of the others.

As always, the library is empty the whole day. The only visitors are the three teenagers that come after school to visit me or to study. Well, some other students come when they have a test or the final exams. I can't be surprise. I was even surprised when I realized that a small town like Green Hill had a library. However, I don't have a bad mood. This silence and calmness are really good for me.
