My eyes opened to see the side of my bed empty. Ronan wasn’t here. My urgent gaze turned to the other side to find him sitting in my desk chair with his bare back to me and his guitar in his hand. He was playing it softly. I didn’t know what the song was and I didn’t know what he was doing up so early. I hugged a pillow and continued looking at him. His hair was damp, which meant he took a shower. I smiled to myself. Was this a dream? I hoped it wasn’t. And even if it was, I didn’t want to ever wake up.

One thing I realized in this lifetime is that everything in this universe was about love. And when it wasn’t about love, it was about the absence of it.

Ronan peeked over his shoulder and his brows rose to find me staring at him. I guess he could guess the type of thought I had just by looking at my face because his eyes softened. He turned the chair towards me and smiled.

“Good morning, love.” He couldn’t get any sweeter. And I couldn’t fall deeper than this.

“A very good morning it is.” I croaked. My voice was still heavy with sleep.

“I was going to sing you a song when you woke up but I didn’t even realize when you woke up.” He pouted and looked away.

“I can wake up again.” I turned around and giggled as I heard him drag the chair closer. I acted as if I had just woken up. I yawned and stretched my arms before sitting up. I turned to him and acted shocked to see him sitting there. His long and delicate fingers strung the guitar's strings. I had heard that music before. I smiled as I realized what the song was.

I met you in the dark, you lift me up.

You made me feel as though I was enough

He kept singing and I kept grinning. His voice had turned a bit deeper and compared to two years ago, he sang a lot better now. Maybe he had practice. I had been looking at him since last night. It was like I couldn’t register that he always had been this beautiful. I was so in love with him that I forgot what he looked like.

I am so in love with you

And I hope you know

Darling your love is more than what its weight in gold

We've come so far my dear

Look how we’ve grown

I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old

Just say you won’t let go

Just say you won’t let go

He strung some last dramatic notes and then ended it. He gave me an expectant smile. I just jumped on him and put my arms around his neck as an answer. I hugged him so tight that our heartbeats mingled. He chuckled and put the guitar to the side and hugged me back tighter. The feeling of being in his arms was so exquisite that I could stay here all day.

“I guess you liked it.” He mumbled. I nodded and pulled back, still sitting on his lap.

“You know I love it when you sing.” I played with his hair and he sighed.

“What were you doing so early?” I asked him.

“I usually wake up early plus I had to go and feed Silver too. He suggested coming along.”

“Is he here?” I looked around.

“Yeah, must be around.” He leaned back in his chair and looked at the door. He called out Silver's name and a moment later he came running with his collar bell announcing his presence. I immediately went and picked him up. He was the softest, cuddliest creature in the entire world. His furry paws wrapped themselves around my neck as I twirled around with him.
