I couldn’t go back to meet Darla at all. No matter what excuse I put up. We spent almost all day looking for tents and some of them were too expensive. It’s not like we were going to go camping every other day so we found a shop and we rented two tents. They were big enough. And when we reached home, the time just passed and soon it was nighttime and I was drinking with all of them. And then I didn’t know when the morning came and we were all in our cars waiting for Darla and Tory around the entrance of the colony. I was alone in my car, as always. The back seat was filled with stuff. Water cooler, snacks and drinks, tents and clothes, and bags. The three of them were sitting in Dylan's car. I waved as Tory came and went straight for the other car. He settled in that car. My brows furrowed as she still didn’t come after ten more minutes.

I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. She didn’t pick up. I dialed again, but still no answer. I got out of the car and Dylan peeked his head out of the window of his car.

“What is it?” He asked.

“You guys go ahead. I'll get Darla and follow you guys.” I told him and walked inside the colony. I heard their car rolling off and sighed. Where was she?

I opened the door and walked up the stairs to her room, only to find it trashed. Not completely but I could see that she had taken her anger out of things. Like the painting she made of the clearing was ripped apart and its frame was broken. There was other mess around the room too but my main thought went to the empty bed. She wasn’t in the room. I ran towards the guest rooms and checked them one by one. They were all empty.

“Darla!” I called out but it was met with a hard wall of silence. I ran downstairs. I looked through the basement, and root cellar and then opened the door of the office or find her laying down on the couch. My brows furrowed at the mess of papers on the table. There was her laptop on top of the paper and there were so many scribbles on the notepad. The paper crunched under my feet as I walked toward her. She was asleep. There was a serene expression on her face. I stared at the phone discarded on the floor. I crouched down next to her head and looked. I pushed her hair behind the ears and upon my touch, her big blue eyes snapped open. The first emotion I recognized was fear in her eyes and then she blinked.

“Ronan.”

“Hey, Princess.”

“What are you doing here?” She sat up with a groan.

“I came to get you. We had to go to the hills, remember?” I softly said as she rubbed her temple. I sat next to her as she glanced at the window behind her.

“I totally laid down for a 30-minute nap.” She mumbled. I got up and walked out of the room. I grabbed a glass of water and came back to find her closing her laptop and grabbing all the papers. She stuffed it in her drawer and smiled at me gratefully as I handed her the glass.

“What happened to the room? I thought a burglar got inside.”

“I might not be 100 percent stable right now.” She put the glass down and I noticed the way she was a little duller than yesterday.

“Who is?” I walked over to her and she looked up at me as I put my arms around her waist. They fit just perfectly in the dip of her waist, and I clasped my hand around her back.

“Now, tell me what happened?” I raised my brows slightly as she leaned toward me. She put her head on my chest and looked up at me.

“My mom happened.” She grumbled.

“What did she do?”

“She sent Jay, the building caretaker, to retrieve me. She wants me home. She says that Dimitri has forgiven me. And she also wants me to go to Harvard Business school.”
