I was up earlier than Ronan. He was still sleeping, cuddled around the white comforter. He got cold at night and wrapped it around us like a cocoon. He had stretched out to my place, with his hand outstretched to my empty place. He was on his back, and I smiled as I saw him so deep in sleep that my walking around the room didn’t wake him up.
I was woken up by Kristen's call. She called me downstairs saying that it was an emergency. They had to celebrate Ronan's birthday.
I put my hair in a pony and pulled some strands out from the front. I had the same sundress as before. Ronan had put it inside the bag when he packed it for me. I put on my boots and quietly opened the door and went downstairs.
When I reached the dining area of the resort, I was kind of astonished. The place was so pretty. All the walls had large glass windows that displayed the mountains we climbed. I sat down next to Dylan and they had already ordered food.
“You look pretty,” Kristen commented as soon as I sat.
“Thank you.”
“Is it perhaps the Ronan-glow?” Dylan put his head on his hand and stared at me sweetly.
“What is Ronan-glow?” I laughed.
“The glow you get after having a hot bang in session.”
“You should look at him. He is glowing brighter than me.” I winked at him. Tory smiled.
“He has the Darla-glow.”
“No, the Princess-glow,” Dylan added.
“I still can’t believe that only we both didn’t know,” Kristen mumbled as she took a bite out of her food.
“Anyways, we are here to talk about Ronan's birthday celebration,” Ezra reminded us and I nodded.
“You guys do know that he doesn’t like celebrating it,” I looked at them. They all nodded except Tort who didn’t know shit.
“This is the first birthday we can celebrate for him. He always had birthdays away from me even when we were in high school. And when I used to tell him that we should have a late party, he didn’t like it.” Dylan told us all. He was his oldest friend, well except me I guess. I was the one that had been the oldest friend.
“Don’t do anything grand,” I warned them in advance. It would make him awkward if they called all the colony and threw a party. He hated socializing.
“Then what?” Kristen leaned back and looked at me. I kind of liked how they were listening to me because they knew I knew him better than anyone else.
“Are you guys going to give him gifts?” I asked. They all nodded.
“Yes, of course. We already bought gifts before we even came here.” She smiled and I could tell they were very fond of him. I was very happy that Ronan got friends like them. He used to be so lonely and I used to kind of get jealous of Dylan. But now that I see it, he needed them to move on. And this was the factor that was missing from my life. Tory helped me just like Ronan did. I looked over at him munching his breakfast.
“Since we are going back today anyway, how about we celebrate it at night back home?” I suggested.
“We can set it around the beach,” Tory added.
“Yeah, that spot would be good.” Dylan nodded in agreement.
“We are going back the day after tomorrow anyway, so I want to do a grand feast as our last dinner together,” Kristen said and my heart thumped. They were going back so soon. I kind of got used to this. Tory sighed loudly.
