I woke up late today. It wasn’t because I slept early yesterday, I slept late. I had woken up early but Ronan was still dead beside me. Who would want to wake up from this dream when he was leaving tomorrow? When I woke up, it was because Ronan was cleaning my cluttered room. I turned to him, peeking from under the sheets. He was picking up everything from the ruined painting and putting it inside a bin. Then he grabbed all the paint brushes and paints from the ground and put them in the drawer basket.
“I can do it, you know,” I mumbled. He looked up from his crouched position and his lips stretched apart in a wide smile.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” He repeated what I had said to him yesterday at the resort.
“What time is it?”
“Five pm.”
“Five?” I sat up shocked. I had slept up to seven pm before but that was when I didn’t sleep at night.
“I did lots of things while you were sleeping like I went to get Silver,” he pointed at the edge of the bed and I looked towards Silver licking his long legs. I instinctively picked him up and hugged him. He stretched into my neck and I giggled.
“He quite likes you. He hates anyone else picking him up.”
“It’s because he remembers me. I used to play with him so much.” I scratched his belly as he tried to grab my hands with his soft paws. Ronan put the drawers back in their place and arranged the desk along with the shelf. I sheepishly only watched him look all sexy with his unbuttoned black shirt as he got up and stretched. He smiled as he saw me get up and wrap my arms around his waist. I put my face on his bare chest and listened to his heartbeat. He didn’t say anything, just let me hug him for five minutes until I pulled away.
“What is it?” He put his finger under my jaw and made me look up.
“I told my mom off before I went to sleep. I told her I didn’t want anything to do with her anymore.” And then I told him everything, from her blatant lie to the CCTV cameras.
“What are you going to do now?”
“I don’t know,” I murmured.
“Okay, let’s forget about it for a moment. How about some ice cream?” He offered me a lopsided smile as I nodded. I walked inside the bathroom and washed my face and hand and brushed. When I walked outside, he had a pink wrap dress in his hand with a roguish smile on his face.
“Where did you get that dress?” I laughed and grabbed the dress. I have this in 2018 or 2019. I didn’t even remember why I bought it. I guess I liked the soft pink color.
“I was just looking for something for you to wear and it was just there.”
“Thank you, stylist.”
“Hurry up, ma’am. You have a shot in five minutes.” He grabbed my shoulder and pushed me into the bathroom. I put on the dress and thank God that it was stretchable. I tied the two strings around my shoulders and turned to see the deep back. I didn’t even need to wear a bra in this one, so I took the bra out.
I modeled outside for him and flipped my hair. He wolf-whistled and slow clapped. Then he put his hand on his mouth to hide his shock as he looked me up and down.
“You look like the Barbie from the departmental store,” he ducked away as I ran and kicked him.
“Shut up.”
“What the fuck was that? You just turned into a flying squirrel.” He laughed loudly and hugged me from behind. I put my hair in a braid and as he buttoned up his shirt too.
