"Nice to see you again Astrid." He grinned and let out an 'oof' as I tackle-hugged him.
"I missed you so much!" I cried, clinging to him. I felt his arms slide around my back as he hugged me back.
"I missed you too, now how are you here!?"
"No idea, one second I was on the beach in Astoria with a friend and then I had this massive headache and when it finally went away I was in the woods."

He sighed softly and I pulled away, studying the young man my best friend had become.
His black hair looked fluffy, just like his feathers, and his eyes seemed to sparkle with delight. He was noticeably taller than I was, like a whole head! I internally huffed at that and studied his wings. As a younger child they weren't strong enough to fly with yet, but now they were huge. When they were folded they reached the floor, and when they were spread out it was about my height, just long. I grinned at the thought of flying with my best friend.
"You've changed." I pointed out.
"Hey you did too little miss 'I'd like to say personality wise'." He shot back playfully.

"Fine fine, can I ask you something?"
"You just did."
"Ha ha very funny." I flicked his forehead and rolled my eyes.
"Ow," he muttered, rubbing his head.
"What's your question?"
"How come you seem so calm here? How long have you been here?"
"Well, I was actually born here. This is where I grew up until we ended up in Alaska. And since I came back I've been here about a year, luckily my aunt never went to Alaska. Otherwise I'd be stuck paying obnoxiously high prices for clothes." He chuckled and tugged at the hoodie I just noticed him wearing. It was completely black and looked kind of like his feathers, the only design on it was the word 'bold' in big, white letters.

"Wow where'd you get this?"
"My aunt made it, she's a seamstress, it's actually the best in Starstreak."
"Starstreak?" I questioned, quirking an eyebrow.
"Yeah, it's a supernatural city a couple days walk from here. It's mostly harpees and Vampires there though, excluding a few wolfbloods."

I glanced down at my tank top and leggings I wore to training before looking back at him.
"Do you think your aunt would have something in my size?"
"Probably, wanna go see?"
I blinked blankly for a moment.
"You said it was a couple days walk, what are we going to do for shelter?"
"Flying makes it faster, so you in?"
I felt my eyes widen as they flickered between his wings and his face.

"You want to fly there?"
"Why not?"
"... Is it safe?" I questioned hesitantly.
"Of course it is, I've been flying for years." He replied and without waiting for a response he scooped me up bridal style and sprinted outside.
"DAMIAN!!!!" I screamed, burying my face in his shirt and clinging to him as his wings beat at the air and wind rushed past my ears.
I felt his chest vibrate with a laugh as he continued flying who knows where.
"A little warning next time!?" I screeched, smacking his arm lightly.
"I gave you one, when I suggested flying."
"That was a suggestion, not a warning." I grumbled, keeping myself from looking down.

I never liked plane rides, I usually slept through them, and this experience brought back the reasons why.
Damian spun and twirled around in the air, sometimes he even dropped me for a few seconds before catching me before I hit the ground. I felt like it was the worst roller coaster ever and I gave up demanding him to stop. After what felt like forever -which was probably only a few hours- I felt my feet on something solid and finally opened my eyes.
It was set up like a city, the only noticeable difference currently was all the buildings were pretty much built into huge trees. It was pretty cool honestly, but I could only see a few tree buildings from where we'd landed.

There was a shed like thing that smelled like hay, manure and something I couldn't place, the building on my right was smaller than the place on my left, both of them blended into the trees a little bit and the only other difference I could see was the one on the right had a sign, although I didn't read it, I knew it was where Damian's aunt made her clothes.
I scrunched up my nose and raised an eyebrow.
"Your aunt is a vampire?" I asked awkwardly.
"Yep, but don't worry. She's the best." He replied confidently, dragging me inside the shop.

Clothes covered pretty much any available space except the floor, racks of clothes in all colors and sizes. I took in my surroundings slowly, there were a few chairs in here, one of them sat behind a desk with a bunch of papers on it. Two doors sat on either side of the desk and one opened up to reveal a woman with white hair and cat-like yellow eyes.

Her eyes lit up at the sight of Damian and I and she rushed over to pull me away from him.
"My nephew finally brought over a girl!!!" She squealed.
I stared at her wide-eyed, terrified for my safety.
"Can you let her go aunt Tsuki? She needs more clothes, she's not from here." Damian explained, gently pulling me away from his psychotic aunt.
"I could tell from.... That," she said, gesturing to my clothes.
"Oh, no offense."
"None taken....?" I was beyond confused at this point.
"Great! Let's get started." And again I was dragged away from Damian, but sadly this time she dragged me into a room with a ton of clothes.

"I have something special, but it's not in here so I'll help you get some from here before I leave you to change ok? Ok."
I just watched as she rushed back and forth, grabbing a bunch of tank tops, jeans, leggings, etc, completely useless.
She dumped the pile at my feet and grinned.
"Try these on and let me know what fits and what doesn't, I'm going to go grab you something." And with that, she left me to try on practically a dozen outfits.

A/N sorry for taking so long QwQ I had to get a friends input on some parts and I didn't get to see her until yesterday.
