After we finished eating and paid Damian held my hand as we left the building and began walking down the street.
"So will you tell me what's been eating at you all night?" I asked, breaking the silence between us.
"Alright, just promise not to laugh ok?"
"Fine, I promise." He held up his free hand, pinky up.
I snorted but locked my pinky with his.
"I pinky promise."

"Astrid, we've been friends for a long time, long enough to consider each other family. I've thought long and hard about how to tell you this and can't figure out the best way so I decided to do this. I really, really-" he was cut off as a dragon the size of a juvenile wolf flew in between us, carrying a loaf of bread in its talons.
(^pic above, only she's black^)

"Get back here thief!" The baker shouted from behind us, shaking his fist in the air like that would bring the dragon back.
Without thinking I took off at a sprint, my eyes glowing green as they locked on the small figure ahead. The dragon glanced back and let out a snort, as of to laugh at my attempt at heroism.
"bestiam durandam." I mumbled the spell and grinned as the little dragon made a crash landing in a bush, unable to move until I say the counter spell.

I bet this is the other person, judging by the gut feeling.

I slowed myself to a stop and pulled the bread effortlessly from its talons before mumbling the counter spell.
"liberabo bestia."
As soon as it was free the dragon shifted into a young woman with shoulder length black hair and dangerous, dark red eyes.
"¡Qué diablos! What did you do to me!?" She shouted furiously, even adding in a little Spanish.
"You clearly stole the bread, all I did was say a minor velocidad spell." I shrugged, glancing behind me as footsteps neared.
I felt the girls piercing glare pointed at the back of my head and chose to ignore it.

"Bring the bread to the baker Damian, I've got this." I instructed, passing him the bread. He nodded and started walking back to the shop while I turned to face the girl, whose eyes were now black.
"Look, if you're that hungry you can come over to our place and we'll cook you up a nice meal, but stealing is wrong."
"It's how i survive, plus I don't take food from strangers. I learned my lesson a long time ago." She mumbled the last part, her eyes seemed to change to a dark green and dark purple color.

"I'm Astrid, and the guy who came over a little bit ago is my best friend Damian. There, now I'm not a stranger." I grinned at her unamused expression.
"Look, I have an offer for you, but it's best if we talk somewhere private and the only place that's private enough is Damian's aunts house."
"What kind of offer?" Her eyes settled on a dark green and she seemed to relax if only slightly.
"One that could get you off the streets."

Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"How-"
"You're dirty clothes and face are a couple factors, the fact that you steal food is another thing the points to homelessness; you don't have a job. And of course theirs the fact that this isn't the first time someones offered you to stay at their place and something happened there." I shrugged and started walking down the street.
"I'm just observant, when I want to be. I wouldn't have invited you over if I thought you'd be a threat."
She began following my after a moment and walked with me -and eventually Damian as well- until we arrived at Tsuki's place.

"It's not a lot but since it's kinda late anyway you can have it." I offered her a plate with a piece of cake I made the day before.
"Thanks." She mumbled, her eyes changing yet again to a nice neutral blue color.
"We -Damian, his aunt, a friend of ours and I- are going to take the throne from the 'king' and we want your help." I explained bluntly, not wanting to beat around the bush. She coughed for a second and shook her head before studying my calm and deadly serious face.
"Well wasn't that straight to the point. How are you going to do it? Do you even have a plan? Or someone who everyone will follow? How would I help?" She shot off questions left and right, making my head spin.

"Let's start with simple things for now Hm? The rightful heir to the throne will be taking over, we have a plan to infiltrate and defeat the 'king' and you'll help in a bunch of different ways, keeping the halls clear, taking the guards weapons etc. Being a small dragon really helps. All I really need to know is, what your name is, and whether you're willing to help or not. Also, I'm dying to know why your eyes keep changing colors."

There was a long, tense silence that filled the room as the girl contemplated my offer, staring down at the strange concoction I'd created.
She took a deep breath and I could tell Damian and I leant forward, on the edge of our theoretical chairs.
"My name is Ember Isle, and I'd like to join Operation Infiltrate."
I heard Damian's sigh of relief beside me and grinned.
"Dang, just joined and already gave our little plan a name. I love it." I gave her a high five and slung my arm over her shoulders.
"So how come your eyes change color?"
"It reflects my mood, It's something my species of dragon can do."
"Nice."

And with that little ending I showed her to the room I was previously staying in since I sleep with Damian and wished her a goodnight before changing back into my pj's and meeting Damian in the living room.
