A/N ok guys, let me cry for a second. This chapter is the longest and saddest chapter I have ever written, but I guess also the happiest lol. almost 3k words, and I made it like that because I felt like making a long last chapter. Yes, this is officially the last chapter before the epilogue. I have no further plans for the storyline. Please enjoy what I worked really hard on.
(P.S. I feel like a proud mother)

I blinked for a moment as the sun burned my corneas before they adjusted and I realized I was on a beach I'd never been to.
With a wave, Skye departed and left me alone to figure out where I am and how I'm going to get to Astrid.

~~~~~~~~
I walked around until well after dark before I gave up and sat down on the still-warm sand of the beach, looking out at the water with a sigh.
What a great way to end my day. I have no idea where I am, my girlfriend is who knows where and has no idea I'm also who knows where
I huffed and stared at the sky until I couldn't anymore and fell asleep under the stars.
~~~~

"Dude, this is the guy thats supposedly dead." a semi-familiar voice muttered as I felt something lightly touch my head.
"My sister's gonna freak!"
"Isn't your sister in Alaska?" a voice I couldn't recognize asked, poking something at my chest.

"I'm trying to sleep can you stop poking me!" I hissed, slapping the thing away and glaring at the two boys in front of me. One of them was staring at me awkwardly, he had blonde hair and brown eyes and the other one was gaping at me like he'd seen a ghost, his looks were unforgettable.
"Damian...." he muttered.
"Darius." I grinned and pulled him into a hug after I stood, ignoring the sand that clung to my clothes.

"A-Astrid said you'd d-died..." he buried his face in my shirt.
"I did, technically. It's complicated. Why don't we go to the castle and get some food 'cause I'm starving." he laughed lightly, told his friend they'd hang out later, and led the way to the castle, leaving me to study the town as we walked.

Shops lined the streets, where people were bustling around with family and friends, getting sweets and all that.
I focused back on Darius as we entered the palace walls, the guards glaring at me and watching my every move.
I tried not to focus on them as we continued walking, me scanning the portraits and tapestries lining the walls and Darius pulling me towards what I'm hoping to be the dining hall.

After a few minutes and a lot of confusing turns, Darius shoved  a large door that opened up to a large dining room, a long table fit for at least twenty sat in the middle and around the table sat Astrid's parents and a couple other people I didn't recognize.
"Mom! We have to call Astrid!" Darius shouted across the room, dragging me over.
"Darius? What's wrong?" his mom asked worriedly, standing as we drew closer.
"Damians here!" he gestured to me with an ecstatic grin and his mom -Cresent I think- stared in shock.

I'm almost one hundred percent sure I heard their dad -Asher- growl as he recognized me and I tried to make myself look innocent. He glared at me while Crescent pulled out her phone.
"Let's get this clear boy," Asher forced out.
"You hurt my daughter and let's just say you will be the last of your family."
I gulped and bobbed my head nervously was the phone rang through the speakers.

"Hello?" Astrid's voice reached my ears and I perked up instantly, a smile flitting across my face.
"Astrid a plane will come to pick you up in a couple of hours so be ready."
"Mom? What's going on? Is everything ok?" I heard a crash from the other end before a soft groan came from the phone.

"Everything's fine, just hurry home."
"Alright, I'll be there soon." Astrid mumbled before the call clicked off and Cress smiled at me.
"Now, let's get you ready."
