Chapter 18 here! Thank you for reading this far, i promise the book should get better! I'm so happy to be finally writing when they leave the quarry. Hope your all having a great day! love ya x
Emerson was sitting in the RV; sulking as one could call it.
She lost her own bet with Daryl and now she would have to go through a whole day of his smug face. She taps the table lightly, looking through the window over-looking the quarry.
Small waves slosh around the small rocks, the slight glimmer settling as the sun peaks out from behind the fluffy clouds. Her leg bounces gently from beneath the table, the rhythmic sound drumming throughout the RV.
It was day six.
Day six of being with the group.
She was stuck on the two choices that hung heavily within each passing second.
Either one more day left with the group, or the rest of her life.
The door was swung open, slamming against the thin wall. She jumped around, her small glare turning into confusion when Jim was dragged in by Shane.
"What the hell" She mumbled, moving out of the way to let the men past.
Jim was placed on the seat opposite of where she once was. His breathing slightly laboured, small beads of sweat clinging to his forehead.
"Emerson go outside" Shane orders, pushing her away.
She nods; still confused. Her legs drag her to the door, not sparing them another glance as she sees the group huddled together.
"Emmy, wheres your backpack?" Glenn walks towards her.
"In the RV why?" She points over her shoulder.
"I'll go get it, is everything packed?" Glenn asks, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah everything's in there" She nods, frowning as he walks away.
She sees Lori stumble pass her, not before Emerson can tap her arm, gaining the women's attention.
"Are we leaving?" She asks her.
"Yeah, we're going to the CDC, Jim was bit...so hopefully there's a cure" Lori smiles gently, walking towards her own tent.
Jim was bit?
Damn.
Emerson stands there waiting for Glenn to reappear with her stuff. She waits a couple seconds, until she sees the familiar red hat emerge from the door.
"Here, I got your jacket as well" He hands her the stuff and pats her head.
She thanks him and slides on the jacket and slings her backpack over her shoulders.
"Operation CDC here we come....how fun" She mutters, walking over to the cars.
~~~~
It was not fun.
She was seated in a warm car with the Grimes and Peletier's. She didn't know how they all fit, but she was definitely complaining at the close proximity.
About ten minutes in the journey, she crawled into the trunk, against the adults wishes.
"It was too crowded!" She argued, throwing her hands up.
"It's not safe back there!" Lori argues back, turning in her seat.
"Neither's squished against three other people" Emerson pointed out, "It's like i was asking to be suffocated" She glares.
