The Master's Problems

Chapter 19 - Intimate

Sonic, Mephiles, and Scourge walk out of their classroom after they finished their last lesson of the day. Sonic was met with Shadow while Scourge was being pulled away by Fleetway to go back to his house.

"Hey, where's Silver?" Sonic asked when he noticed his friend wasn't greeted by his maid.

"I told him to stay home, he's on his day off"

"Wait, we can just decide that?" Sonic tilted his head and the other nodded. He grew a big smile and turned to face his bodyguard.

"Shadow! You should have your day off too!"

"What?" Shadow asked confusingly.

"I'm going on a date with Silver after this, we actually need it and so do you" Mephiles suggested, "we at least need to go on a date once before getting married, right?" He said and Sonic nodded.

"Thank you so much for the idea" the blue hedgehog smiled again.

"My pleasure. I'll excuse myself now, see you" Mephiles smiled back before parting away from the two.

Sonic turned to look at his bodyguard who seemed to be so confused. Shadow didn't get anything about what they just talked about, he didn't understand the 'day off' that Mephiles gave to his maid and now Sonic was about to do to the same.

"Alright Shadow, I will now declare that today is your day off"

Shadow blinked in confusion.

"But why? I don't need it, I'm not exhausted with my job. I love serving you"

Sonic blushed a little and chuckled, "oh Shadow, thank you. But you don't understand, everyone needs a day off! Including a servant like you" he placed his hand on the other's shoulder.

"But I'm perfectly fine without-"

"I'm ordering you to have your day off starting now"

That was the magic word. Shadow couldn't refuse him when he word it out like that. He sighed in defeat and nodded.

"As you wish..." he trailed off, "but...until when?"

"Just until we go to sleep, you can go back to work tomorrow morning. That sound okay to you?" Sonic asked, he would've kept Shadow off work for a long time but he knew that Shadow wouldn't agree to that since he's so dedicated to being his servant.

"Alright" Shadow agreed and get the other excited, it put a smile on his face.

"Great! Let's get you changed, then we can have lunch outside!" Sonic took his wrist and led them to the car.

Shadow was the one getting the day off, but Sonic was more excited than him. The bodyguard drove them back to the house, Sonic already couldn't wait to get in and see the dark hedgehog in a casual outfit. As soon as Shadow walked out of his room from changing his clothes, Sonic blushed and squealed.

"You're so cool!" He complimented and made the other blush a little.

"Thank you" he smiled.

"You're like the most handsome hedgehog to ever live in this world" Sonic suddenly hugged him. He rested his chin on Shadow's chest due to being shorter as he look up to him.

Shadow wasn't used to the compliment, but he was still happy to get it from his beloved master.

"And you're the most adorable" he gently stroke Sonic's head.

Sonic purred and giggled, "thank you Shadow" he said before letting go. "Let's go eat now" he took Shadow's hand as they head outside to go on their lunch date.
