Shadow checked the time that morning, usually his master would already wake up but he hadn't seen him yet. He thought of the little argument he had last night, maybe his master just needed more time to rest after all that. He sighed and decided to not bother him and instead went to the kitchen to prepare his master a meal for when he wakes up.

Thirty minutes had passed, Shadow thought it was quite strange for his master to stay in bed that long. He gave up with his curiosity and concern and decided to check up on Sonic. He made it to the door and knocked on it.

"Master, are you awake yet?"

No respond.

He got very concerned and knocked on the door again while calling his master out, still no respond. He finally decided to open the door and went to check on him. He was still curled up on his bed.

"Master? It is time for you to get up from bed"

He walked around the bed so he could see his master's face. He was a bit surprised that Sonic looked a little different. He was awake but he kept closing his eyes and he was breathing heavily. Shadow wasn't sure but he decided to put the back of his palm on Sonic's forehead. His eyes widen.

"You have a fever! I'll go get your medicine ready, please wait for me" he said before he hurried himself out of the bedroom.

Sonic slowly opened his eyes and squirmed, he must have had the fever due to having so much overthinking and not getting enough sleep the past few days. It probably got worst because of the argument he and Shadow had yesterday, he was pretty pressured and confused about it.

His ears perked when he heard the door open, Shadow was in the room again.

"Can you sit?" The bodyguard asked.

Sonic coughed a bit before unwrapping himself from the blanket and slowly pull himself up to sit on the bed. Shadow sat on the edge, he had a bowl of porridge for Sonic to eat before he could take his medicine. He knew very well that his master have absolutely no appetite when he's sick, so he grabbed a small bowl for him.

"You should've told me sooner that you weren't feeling well" Shadow sighed while feeding his master.

Sonic didn't know what to say, he just kept quiet. He actually thought Shadow would hate him after all that he said to him. Now he just felt worse.

"Shadow...about your replacement..."

"Let's worry about that later, you need to heal up first"

Sonic's face was red from the fever, but he knew at that moment he was red because he blushed.

He finished his meal and was given the medicine from Shadow. He took a glass of water to help push the pill down, he hated the taste.

"You should rest more, I'll excuse myself" Shadow grabbed the tray and left the room.

Sonic curled himself in his blanket again and whined, he was having a mixed feelings toward his bodyguard. All of the thrown away feelings were coming back, he knew Shadow was just doing his job but the way he was genuinely taking care of him melted his heart. Shadow really didn't care about what Sonic said to him, it didn't even cross his thought of how mean Sonic was to him last night.

His head started aching and he cried. Sonic felt terrible for every thing. He wanted to leave college and he wanted to leave Shadow which all happened in the same day. He was a horrible master and a bad child.

The medicine he took should have put him to sleep, but he didn't because he started to overthink every thing again. His headache also made him felt worst.
