Silver and Shadow went downstairs and stayed in the living room while their masters were still chatting in the room upstairs. They were in an awkward silence for a moment before Silver finally spoke.
"So...are you on good terms with your master?"
"Yes" Shadow nodded with a smile, "there were some...arguing...but we managed to talk it out and somehow understand each other more"
"That sounds great" Silver smiled back, "so you're saying that you finally know how much he loves you?"
"Oh you catch up quickly" the bodyguard chuckled and nodded, "yes, we finally end up...uh...dating"
"Not used to saying that about your own master, huh?" Silver laughed.
"Yeah, it feels illegal" Shadow also laughed.
"I mean it kinda is...it's also going to be my problem with my master" the maid sighed with a smile and made the bodyguard realize of Silver's relationship with Mephiles.
The two stared at each other before leaning back on their seat, they seemed deppressed.
"What are we going to do about their parents? Our masters would surely be very upset if they won't accept us" the maid said worryingly.
Shadow sighed and pulled himself forward, "the only way is to quit our job, but that still won't guarantee their parents' approval" he stated.
Silver stared at the ceiling, he couldn't imagine to have to be violent towards his master's parents. He really had the thought of using his weapon, but he's not supposed to kill them since they're his family. He groaned and facepalmed with both hands.
"We need to think of our own plan for this"
Shadow chuckled, "like running away?"
Silver stared at him with his ears perked up.
"I was joking"
"Oh..." the maid averted his eyes disappointingly.
"We still have about 2-3 years before their marriage, I'm sure we'll think of something before that" Shadow got up and dust himself, "for now let's just keep our focus on keeping our masters happy"
The maid still didn't like the idea but he had no other choice, he sighed and nodded.
Shadow decided to go to the kitchen and prepare something for Sonic and Mephiles to snack on while they're chatting, Silver followed him and decided to help.
As the two servants finished up in the kitchen, Silver went to deliver the tray upstairs and Shadow stayed to do some clean up. The dark hedgehog heard the doorbell rang, he went to greet whoever it was outside and it shocked him to see the green hedgehog at the front door.
He disliked the hedgehog but he still opened the door for him, his bodyguard was there too.
"Hey there" Scourge smiled at him.
"Hello" Shadow smiled awkwardly.
"Is Sonic here? I heard from the teacher he's sick and I wanted to visit him"
Shadow was hesitant, but he shouldn't lie because that'd make him a bad servant. He quietly sighed and nodded.
"Sonic is in his room, I will take you to see him. Please come in" he opened the door wider as the other two went inside.
"Okay Fleet, stay here"
"You're one to talk, huh?" Fleetway smiled with a hint of anger.
"I must inform you that master Mephiles is here as well, though I'm sure my master would love the extra company" Shadow smiled.
