Harsh words and cold nights are likely the cause.
Obligations have all but left his mind completely, dangerous flaws.
He takes her in his arms, lust and passion overruling sense.
Nothing remains, even dreams of a picket fence.
The gold band he once cherished, sparkles in the streetlight.
He lost all integrity in the cover of one night.
Gone is his soul and the true meaning of life.
Some may never know, but he will always pay the price.
They see now that life is never what it seems.
Merely pawns in a game of "Ends justifying Means".
