Serendipitous Convergence

"Mom, no. I am not going on a date with that guy, I won't get to know him." Huling sabi ko bago pumasok sa kwarto at isara ito nang malakas.

Sino ba naman ang matutuwang umuwi sa bahay na ito kung pag uwi mo ganito ang maaabutan mo? 

"Listen, that kid has a good background and he likes you. You saw him, there's no reason to not like him Kalia." Sabi ni mommy na nasa labas ng pintuan ngayon.

Humiga ako sa kama bago madiin na pumikit.

"Mom, I don't care if he likes me, I don't care about his background! And you don't tell me who to like especially when I have a boyfriend, respect that!" I shouted as I put my earphones on my ears and play on a music. I'm done with this conversation.

I thought it's just a normal day. A normal moment wherein I have to go home because apparently, I still have a family that I need to go home to. Pero pagkarating ko, mukha nung lalakeng yon ang nakita ko. What is his name again? Gosh I forgot.

I can't even remember his name even when I already heard it on the campus, we won't be going anywhere I swear.

Mom and Dad wants me to date him, they straight out disrespect my relationship with Noah in front of my face kaya umpisa pa lang ay umakyat na ang dugo ko. 

Funny how I won't even know that they still exist in my life if I am not at home seeing their possessions and their pictures everywhere pero noong nalaman nila na may boyfriend na ako, ang bilis gumawa ng paraan para diktahan ang desisyon ko. 

But well I had myself growing up, I don't have them to tell me how I should be because they just don't trust that I could be as great as my sister that died. Yeah, they judge me so fast but hell I care, hindi ko sila susundan. While growing up it's all my decision, it's all on my accord so now can they control me? No way.

Right, they can't control me so why am I hiding here and not facing them?

Tumayo ako sa pagkakahiga at tinanggal ang earphones ko.

I went outside. I saw my parents and my step dad eating with Mr. Angelic Face.

"Hi, so you're still here?" I asked as I pick up a chicken barehand. Nakita ko ang matalim na tingin ni mommy sa akin pero hindi ko siya pinansin.

"As you can see, I am." He said before he stood up. Lumapit siya sa akin at hinila ang upuan sa tabi ko. "I know what you are doing Kalia, acting like a disgrace infront of your family, huh?" Bulong niya.

I rolled my eyes and put down the chicken on the plate on the table.

"So what's your name?" I asked.

"Take your seat first." Dad commanded but I shook my head. I'm not staying here.

"I though by now you already made an effort to know my name since I saved you but anyways, I am Miguel but call me Migs instead."

I nodded. "But actually it doesn't matter, I won't be needing to call your name anyways since you know, I have a boyfriend and I am loyal so I won't fuck with you."

"Your words, Kalia!" Pambabawal ni tito.

Tumingin ako kay tito Vincent, ang asawa ni Mommy. "I'm sorry tito but if you think cursing in front of you is insulting then I hope you can tell mom and dad that it's more insulting to introduce me to a guy when they know I have a boyfriend."

"That guy is not right for you!" Sigaw ni mommy.

Natatawa ko naman siyang tinignan. "How do you know who's right for me Mom? You don't even know who's right for you."
